HAGERSTOWN FOUGHT BACK

The federal government spent $102.4 million to turn a warehouse outside Hagerstown into a cage for 1,500 human beings. Residents had no say.

Patrick Dattilio founded Hagerstown Rapid Response, dug through county records, and organized the community to fight back. A billboard went up on Dual Highway last week: “ICE camp is planned 5.6 miles ahead. Not in our community. Speak out now.”

Maryland Attorney General Anthony Brown sued. A federal judge stopped the project cold. ICE is now “reconsidering the plans and scope.” Translation: they lost.

Dattilio told NPR why the community keeps fighting the federal government: “Their power still comes from the people. And we are the people.”

FOX BRINGS BAD NEWS FOR THE REGIME

Trump has spent more than a year telling Americans the economy is booming—and a new poll from his favorite network admits that not even his own folks believe him. Fox found that 70% of Americans say the economy is getting worse.

Democrats now lead Republicans on the economy for the first time since 2010. Even more damning, 55% of voters say Trump is mentally unfit for office. We’re reminded of that daily—especially when he fell asleep in the Oval Office again last week.

GOP pollster Daron Shaw said there is no path for the GOP to turn this around before the midterms. Trump will scream fake news, but it’s their own pollster showing MAGA viewers what losing looks like.

THEY FIRED THE WATCHDOG

Stars and Stripes is the newspaper American troops read in war zones. It’s funded by the Pentagon, but required by Congress to stay editorially independent. Four months ago the Pentagon announced plans to refocus the paper away from what it called “woke distractions that syphon morale.”

Part of that plan was firing Jacqueline Smith, whose last day is today.

Smith was the first woman ever to serve as the paper’s watchdog—hired by Congress to protect the paper’s independence. Under Hegseth, Stars and Stripes was banned from printing syndicated columns, outside stories, and comic strips. He’s now pushing Bible content into a publication read by troops of every faith and no faith. Smith told CNN: “It seems to me that the Bible has no place in the running of the Pentagon.”

Rep. Jamie Raskin had enough, and sent a letter signed by 38 House members demanding Hegseth back off. Six days later, Smith got her termination form, even though her term wasn’t up for eight more months. She was fired with no explanation, no warning, and no appeal. The form she was handed simply read: “This action is not grievable.”

Smith used her final column to tell Congress and the public exactly what was happening inside Stars and Stripes—on the record, in her own words—before they could stop her. It was published with the title “The Pentagon is trying to silence me.” She knew they would come for her. She published anyway.

They can fire the watchdog. They cannot fire the truth.

WHITTIER FLIPS

Today in Richard Nixon’s hometown of Whittier, California, three Democrats will be sworn in as mayor and to the city council. They beat Republican-backed incumbents in three landslide blowouts—all receiving more than 61% of the vote.

This is what the electoral map looks like everywhere right now. Communities are fighting back and winning. Voters are delivering their verdict at the ballot box. The regime’s own propaganda network is publishing poll numbers that destroy it.

MILITARY FAMILIES BEAT REPUBLICANS

Republicans filed a lawsuit in Michigan to strip voting rights from US military spouses and dependents overseas. On top of the fact it’s horrible, they were ignoring longstanding federal law that protects those exact voters.

Michigan Court of Claims Judge Sima Patel dismissed it on Wednesday—the latest in a string of failed Republican attempts to kill the Uniformed and Overseas Citizens Absentee Voting Act in court.

DNC Chair Ken Martin slammed the GOP for it: “The DNC will stop at nothing to prevent Republicans from cheating their way out of accountability in 2026.”

Republicans tried to steal votes from our troops. Everyone must remember that in November.

ROY MOORE LOST. AGAIN.

Roy Moore is the disgraced former Alabama Supreme Court Justice who lost the 2017 US Senate race to Doug Jones. He sued a Democratic super PAC that ran ads against him—initially, a jury awarded him $8.2 million.

But on Friday, the 11th Circuit unanimously threw out the ruling, in a decision written by a Trump appointee.

Attorney for the PAC Ezra Reese called it “a complete repudiation of Roy Moore’s pathetic seven-year effort to weaponize the courts … Alabama voters correctly decided that they did not want a disgusting creep like Roy Moore representing them in the United States Senate.”

Alabama rejected him in 2017. The courts finished the job.

THE BOGUS INVESTIGATION COLLAPSES

Trump’s hand-picked US Attorney for DC, Jeanine Pirro, stood at a lectern on Wednesday morning and vowed to push forward with her criminal probe of Fed Chair Jerome Powell.

Forty-eight hours later she folded, closing an investigation her own prosecutor admitted had found no evidence of any crime—and that a federal judge called baseless.

It was never a real investigation—it was a threat designed to force Powell to cut interest rates. Republican Senator Thom Tillis forced Pirro’s hand, saying he’d block confirmation of Trump’s new Fed chair nominee until the probe was closed.

They didn’t find corruption at the Fed. But they sure demonstrated it at the DOJ.

COURT KILLS TRUMP’S ASYLUM BAN

A three-judge DC Circuit panel ruled on Friday that Trump’s executive order suspending asylum at the US southern border is illegal. Judge J. Michelle Childs wrote that a president can’t turn people away without a hearing, erase the right to apply for asylum, or deport people to countries where they will be tortured or killed.

Even his own appointee to the court—Judge Justin Walker—agreed with the core of the ruling. ACLU attorney Lee Gelernt said it was an essential decision for “those fleeing danger who have been denied even a hearing.”

The regime told the world it ended asylum at the border. This court just told the regime it’s not allowed to do that.

OREGON DID WHAT TRUMP WON’T

Trump promised to bring housing costs down. He lied. Rents are up, home prices are at record highs, the Department of Housing and Urban Development has been gutted, and affordable housing grants have been frozen. The regime opened the floodgates for private equity firms and called it a free market.

Oregon Gov. Tina Kotek signed six housing bills into law on Wednesday and went straight at the people profiting from the crisis.

The bills give families a 90-day head start before private equity can touch a single-family home listing. A $20 million loan fund forces affordable housing into the pipeline. A preservation program keeps existing units alive when Trump’s frozen federal subsidies expire. Since taking office, Kotek has helped finance 17,000 housing units, with 50,000 more coming.

State Sen. Khanh Phạm, who supported the bills, was direct: “With existing federal funding for affordable housing under attack, it’s critical for Oregon to find cost-effective ways to build homes available to Oregonians at different income levels.”

Trump lied to working families about housing, and then handed their neighborhoods to Wall Street. Oregon showed America how to fight back.

COURT BLOCKS SHELTER SHAKEDOWN

On January 26, the Trump regime attached new rules to federal grants that fund domestic violence shelters nationwide—no federal money could be used to help undocumented people. No shelter, crisis services, or legal help.

The regime was turning the Violence Against Women Act into an immigration enforcement tool. Organizations that refused to check immigration status before offering services would lose their funding.

Last Friday, US District Court Judge Melissa DuBose issued a preliminary injunction stopping the regime cold. The funding for 25 domestic violence coalitions in 21 states and DC is now protected. The grants keep paying out.

Survivors won this round—a judge made sure of it.

OKLAHOMA CITY VS. THE GOVERNOR

On Tuesday, the Oklahoma City Council voted unanimously to stop new data center construction through the end of 2026. When a developer tried to postpone the vote, OKC Mayor David Holt was blunt: “You’re going to have a thousand data centers apply in the next two weeks.”

The same day, GOP Governor Kevin Stitt broke ground on a $1 billion data center in Tulsa for Meta—the company that owns Facebook and Instagram. The groundbreaking happened the same week Meta announced 8,000 layoffs. The deal includes an 85% annual property tax exemption, meaning Meta pays next to nothing in local taxes for 25 years.

The city council stood with its community. The Republican governor stood with Meta.

DELAWARE DRAWS THE LINE ON ICE

ICE arrests in Delaware are up 165% since Trump took office. Delaware Rep. Mara Gorman fought back with two bills that passed in the State House last week.

The first bill passed 25-13. It bans warrantless civil immigration arrests at courthouses and Department of Labor offices. Gorman was direct about what ICE is doing in Delaware: “That is a threat to justice itself.”

The second bill bars the state from spending any money on private detention facilities like the ones ICE uses to hold people during immigration proceedings. No contracts, payments, or subsidies—period. It passed 28-13.

Both bills now head to a Democratic supermajority in the Senate, where they will pass. Delaware is showing every state that hasn’t acted yet that compliance with the Trump regime is a choice—and Delaware chooses resistance.

NUNES OUT AT TRUMP MEDIA

Former GOP Rep. Devin Nunes and I go way back. In 2017, I investigated him and filed ethics complaints that helped force him off the House Intelligence Committee’s Russia investigation.

When he tried to ignore my calls to resign, I put up a billboard near his Visalia, California, congressional office that read: “Hold a town hall. Let’s talk about Russia.” He never did hold that town hall.

Nunes eventually resigned in disgrace back in 2022, and took on a consolation prize running “Truth” Social—Trump’s answer to every other social media platform that insisted on fact-checking him. Here’s how that worked out.

Trump Media posted a $712 million loss against $3.7 million in revenue. For every dollar they made, they lost $192. The stock is down around 67% since Trump’s reelection, wiping out more than $6 billion in market value. This week Nunes left his role at Trump Media—no goodbye, no graceful exit. Just gone.

He’s now shifting his focus to his role as Chairman of Trump’s Intelligence Advisory Board. There has never been a more ironic name.

DELAWARE JUST DARED TRUMP TO TRY IT

The Trump regime has been explicit: it wants federal control over state-run elections. Delaware Gov. Matt Meyer heard that and signed an executive order Wednesday creating the Delaware Task Force on Free, Fair, and Secure Elections. Then he explained exactly who he’s building it for.

“The US Constitution is clear: elections are run by the states, not the federal government,” Meyer said. “If the federal government tries to hijack the will of the people, we will be ready.” That’s not hyperbole—it’s a governor reading the room and drawing a hard line before the regime crosses it.

Secretary of State Charuni Patibanda-Sanchez named the threat directly: “We’re working closely with communities across the state to protect the most fundamental right we have—the right to vote—and to make sure every voice is heard and respected.”

The regime wants to own your vote. Delaware just said not here, not ever.

COMMUNITY SAYS NO TO CBP JOB FAIR

Moreno Valley, California, has a majority Latino population. So Customs and Border Protection (CBP) figured this would be the perfect place to have a job fair earlier this month. Then word got out, and it wasn’t taken kindly.

Local organizers got to work—mobilizing folks to flood the venue with calls and emails voicing their opposition. When CBP saw the massive backlash, they put out a statement canceling the event altogether.

This is how the regime’s recruitment machine works. Amada Armenta, director of UCLA’s Latino Policy and Politics Institute, laid out the strategy: “Latinos are drawn into these jobs because in some regions, they are the best jobs there are. These are high-paying jobs that offer an entry into the middle class.”

Moreno Valley Mayor Ulises Cabrera thanked residents for fighting back. As an organizer put it: “These agencies are responsible for tearing families apart, targeting our neighbors, and enforcing a system built on fear and displacement.”

Moreno Valley said no—and CBP blinked.

AN INDIANA COUNTY MAKES IT PERMANENT

Data centers are massive facilities that drain millions of gallons of water, spike utility bills, and deliver almost no permanent jobs. They’ve been spreading across the country as Big Tech tries to plant them anywhere it pleases. Marshall County, Indiana, just shot that down—forever.

While we’ve seen other communities pass temporary moratoriums, Marshall County Commissioners voted Monday to make their ban on data centers permanent—effective immediately. No expiration date. No loophole. Done.

Commissioner Jesse Bohannon laid it out: “People have been coming in—trying to put in data centers, and battery energy storage, and farm-scale solar. We’ve been working for the last year and a half to make sure we have the right protections in place.”

Trump opened the door for Big Tech’s unchecked expansion—Marshall County just closed it for good.

THE BOTTOM LINE

The regime is losing to people it never saw coming—and that’s exactly how we’re going to win big in the midterms.
