Paying cop killers with our tax dollars seems to have touched a GOP nerve. If they have one.

Judy Sherwood's avatar

No nerve, IMHO.

Just fear of being associated with the grift and held accountable by their constituents... result: not getting re-elected to their cushy jobs.

This is my spineless MAGA Rep…

In a revealing CNN exchange, Rep. Mike Haridopolos (R-FL) offered a cautious defense of the Trump administration’s new $1.776 billion DOJ “anti-weaponization” fund. When pressed on compensating January 6 participants, he suggested claimants “gotta make their case” for relief “if there is abuse.”

He’s also 100% behind the billion-dollar ballroom.

CALL THEM OUT !!!📣📣📣

Mr Haridopolos is a disgrace to humanity ( if there is abuse ?????)

More like cushy vacations

ALL the Republicans are going to have to grow consciences, use the brains the people voted them in to use

netta glaser's avatar

Do you really think they have either of those?

netta glaser's avatar

It must have been something else!!

Patti Scott's avatar

Even they can see it’s a bad look

kevin oldham's avatar

They have some nerve! Those people.

Sharon C Storm's avatar

They don’t have consciences, they lost them, along with their spines when the felon was ‘elected’. They are now in flat out self-preservation mode.

This week showed the regime cracking from the inside. Republicans literally canceled their own vote rather than defend paying Jan 6 rioters with our money. Fanone called it the greatest betrayal of his life. Judges blocked the voter data grab in two more states. And Colorado Democrats actually held their own governor accountable.

There are Great things going on behind the scenes. Do not despair, that’s what strengthens the fascists. Keep spreading what you learn from these posts.

Colorado Gov must have been given stock tips for the next insider trading scam

The tide is turning!

netta glaser's avatar

I sure hope it's turning and not high tide.

Patti Campbell's avatar

The tide is not turning soon enough, nor strong enough. There should come such a monumentally high tidal wave that it sweeps the entire corrupt and evil MAGA regime out into the dark waters of the oceans. If this addled and corrupt bunch of incompetent idiots are not taken out to the woodshed immediately there is going to be a violent uprising of the honest people in America. Everyone is fed up with the sick morons robbing us blind and destroying our country.

MadGrama's avatar

The corruption, treason, and betrayal gets deeper and wider everyday. I think they ran from the vote purely for self-preservation. None of them have a conscience.

Judy Sherwood's avatar

when the R's turn tail and run, I'd hardly call that a return to conscientiousness.

Rats bailing off a sinking ship.

Joanne Steacie's avatar

Yeah. Judy, that is more likely.

Renee Goodman's avatar

Judy, hoping they continue going down under!

Phyllis RP Tessieri's avatar

If they had conscience they would have stayed, voted against and gone on the record in support of democracy; fleeing also puts them on the record as betrayers of public trust and cowards.

Sue Smith's avatar

I couldn't agree more, Joanne

Ms Jonington's avatar

I would have bailed on it, too! But with a big fat NO vote!

Brenda Doherty's avatar

Scott, the GOP elected officials see a HUGE Blue Tsunami coming in November and are trying to get out of the way!

Patti Scott's avatar

Maybe if they voted their conscience they could survive but they have shown they don’t care about governing

Kay-El's avatar

Holy Moses Johnson’s greatest achievements as Speaker is cutting and running.

Margot's avatar

I think self preservation first and maybe an "oh shit this has gone too far." Still they are cowards to cut and run when the country needs them to stand up.

Marie Rudden's avatar

Self- preservation by the Republicans- but only because of Jamie Raskin and Chis Van Hollen.

Michael Fanone is a true hero.

Patti Scott's avatar

They are all heroes

Colleen Devine's avatar

Will we ever know? My sense? My two cents? #InspiringAConsciousInCongress even if it comes through self/preservation. They went home to an angry constituency undefeated while the rest of America has been inspired by concerted focused action. Well done Scott and team.

Margaret Paul's avatar

Some of them may have run from supporting the slush fund because of conscience but based on their prior performance in Congress, for most of them this was self-preservation

Mary Evelyn Arnold's avatar

Surely you jest. Pure self-preservation only.

Virginia's avatar

Hmmm... 5 months to the midterms🤔 Sounds like self preservation to me. I hope it proves to be "too little, too late."
