🚨URGENT: Trump's UNHINGED DHS pick—Markwayne Mullin—confirmation hearing tentatively set for next week! He defends ICE fatally shooting citizens, backs expelling US-born kids, objected to 2020 election results.

Tell your Senators: BLOCK this nomination! https://actionnetwork.org/letters/tell-your-senators-oppose-markwayne-mullin-for-dhs-secretary/

Trump’s decline is rapidly becoming clear to anyone with a quarter of a brain. Markwayne should marry Kellyanne, they’d make a great couple.

We all need to do this! Sometimes I feel like all I do is contact my Senators (both GOP) about the daily laundry list of travesties perpetrated by this regime.

Peggy Freeman's avatar

I do it, too, Talula! Every. single. day!

Peggy Freeman's avatar

Just sent my letter to my maga republican Senator, Scott! He won't pay any attention, but I still write and send them daily!

Bernadeen's avatar

Yeah. I keep writing. But then, I’m waiting for our senators supposedly in the “opposition” party, to legislate like they… oppose the administration. What state has TWO Democrat senators who have feigned oblivion, who jump aside at every juncture to let the “trumpeters” stomp by without obstruction…

I feel your pain (OH.)

Governor Grisham is really starting to impress me. New Mexico is getting it right! Let’s go, ladies!

Peggy Freeman's avatar

She is showing governors how to get things done and she impresses me, too, Ms. Jonington!

Put a woman in charge and things get done! 🔆

Yes!

NO one elected Trump for economic reasons. MAGAs voted for Trump for: hatred, fascism, racism, sexism and gender discrimination. They deserve every indignity now imposed on them. We TOLD you and you didn’t listen, and now you have no one to blame but yourself... The information was there, they were not responding to it because they didn’t care. They just HATED women.

Trump won because sexism and racism are the pillars of American cultural identity. Being a straight, white and Christian male is the biggest 'identity politics' game in the history of the country.

I voted for her and I would vote for her again if the election was held today! That’s why I often wear this "Don't blame me, I voted for her" tee 👇

Amen! Made me think of Keb' Mo's song, "Put a Woman in Charge"! Excellent song!

Following the law used to be expected and accepted, now it’s a profile in courage. So bravo to New Mexico and Governor Grisham and may other states follow their lead.

Thank you for all that good news.

Because I am old, I clearly remember when Rudy moved his mistress into Gracie Mansion, while his wife and kids were still living there. Reading about this dinner put me over the moon! Yes for the Mayor! Yes for Mahmood and his family!

I wish every Democratic Governor would do the same. I also wrote Governors Hochul, Pritzker and Newsom to set up an account for their constituents to put their federal tax money into and withholding federal taxes. I do not support funding the illegal war and all the crimes against humanity and do not want my money going to the federal government for those things.

Malinda Kay Launert's avatar

That is a great idea! I have been saying the same thing, they are MIS-USING OUR MONEY!

We need to stop feeding this DESTRUCTION MACHINE with OUR AMERICAN MONEY...NOT TRUMPS!

Julie's avatar

I agree, Sylvia. I have been pushing this idea for, if not all states, at least blue states, especially since Trump trying to retaliate against blue states like withholding funding for projects as he tried to do in my state.

Judy Sherwood's avatar

Great idea indeed! A citizen tax revolt - sign me up!

Jeri G's avatar

Republicans want voters uneducated and poor so they can be lured in with gaslighting.

Jeri G's avatar

(My comment was sent before complete) New Mexico values children and education and is a model for the rest of the country!

Malinda Kay Launert's avatar

Yes, they are the ultimate gas lighters! Be Smart...DON'T Fall for their LIES!

Jamesina Hamilton's avatar

I am shocked and appalled that there are so many uneducated people in the US! We obviously are failing the education of our children! This must be among the first things we fix when we take back our government! Signed, one of “the people”!!!!!

An example for other states to follow!!

We have a long list of heroes in the resistance, and most of them get zero recognition. Like so many of you here in the comments, Lujan Grisham is a shining star and we're lucky to have her on our side. Onward!

Tess's avatar

Bravo to everyone standing up against this crazy administration!

Gov. Grisham is my new hero!!! So many leaders try to talk the talk but can’t walk the walk, except this governor is putting action where it is desperately needed. The child care law is brilliant and necessary. The law against election interference is stellar, and New Mexico moves into the limelight by actually making the lives of its residents so much better because of the governor’s changes. Kudos New Mexico! A beautiful state and a forward place to thrive!

I applaud the move by the New Mexico Attorney General to investigate what has happened at Zorro Ranch. He does this over the objection of The US DOJ. Perhaps once the investigation is underway and is yielding results, the US DOJ will approve of and join in the investigation. The rest of us in the US should be thankful for the courage of the state of New Mexico.

Judy Sherwood's avatar

DoJ/Bondi have their own agenda, and cooperation with states is not on it. Unless the state supports the current occupant/current administration in their fascist pursuits.

Wis's avatar

Welcome back, Antonio! I’m so sorry you and your family had to suffer this indignity! I’m sorry so MANY folks in detention are suffering - the indignity and god-awful conditions! WE MUST STOP WAREHOUSING HUMAN BEINGS.

Renee Collins's avatar

Thanks as always, Scott!!!

Frances Gardner's avatar

I think we need more governors to stand up to Trump like this. And Senators and Representatives and Mayors and everybody else, for that matter. It will help them win elections.

Let other states follow these examples!
