Don't forget what the governor and mayor of Oregon is doing or what Governor Newsom is doing. I am hoping that what is happening today will spur more democrats to take action. I am crying for this country and I am praying to Jesus for help and mercy.

Thank you, Sylvia. Many of us are praying for our country, our honest faithful leaders, and for all of the people to have understanding, to be safe, respected, and to survive this time and enjoy better days and years ahead.

Absolutely, I was so impressed with the mayor of Portland, Oregon and the other speakers who wisely and admirably shared their comments on YouTube. I saw it Monday, September 29, 2025. The governor of California also is wise and staunch in standing up for the people of his state.

Governor Pritzger is a wise gem who truly cares about the people of Illinois, and is both truthful and dedicated to the responsibilities of his position.

I do but we have to recognize the sacrifice they make. Life is getting more expensive and to face the inflation without paychecks is heroic. More power to them!

Yes, Veronika, I also am concerned for people being hungry, losing utilities or even their homes or vehicles, suffering from inability to afford medical care, and possibly even dying from the sacrificed pay. Still I admire their values and willingness to support our legislatures. We need the unity.

Federal workers standing up is so encouraging. What's happening in America is heartbreaking, so much cruelty and outright greed. And honestly, I think it all boils down to religion and controlling women. Leave each other alone!

False piety. The anger and cruelty of purported Christians, who show none of the guiding light of kindness and compassion. Agree, it's all about male power and grift.

Those federal workers are heroes! They realize the gravity of the situation we’re in with an administration that is fascist and does not work for the people.

Trump’s golden office is the perfect metaphor. A tacky shrine to himself while the country burns. Meanwhile, federal workers, the people who actually keep the lights on, are saying “fine, cut the checks, but we’re not selling out our neighbors’ healthcare.” That is courage, not cosplay patriotism.

Our local Indivisible chapter has several mutual aid initiatives including one for a community food pantry in an economically challenged neighborhood in the middle of a food desert.

The last time we dropped off food, I volunteered to go along and help unload the delivery. I had the opportunity to interact with several people who stopped by to see what they could pick up to supplement their meager benefits. Many in that neighborhood are in the same boat as you.

People like to be generous at the holidays, but the need is year round. If you can afford to, please consider making a monthly donation to your local food bank. It breaks my heart to think about people (especially children) going hungry.

Back in the summer the word 'warrior' had begun to be used any time there was a news item about the military, in obvious place that 'soldier' had been used. It was jarring to hear, and seemed to be used as a sort of 'dog whistle,' a cue of something in the near

future.

The one that bothered me the most was “warfighters”. We are not in a war except against the maga regime. Those who took an oath to the Constitution should go back and read it again. The domestic enemy is the felon himself.

The guy loves ticky-tacky. Before I knew who he was I heard of a ----head in NYC who wanted to demolish some old buildings there that apparently had some beautiful

Art Deco features. That guy didn't care as much as to spit and took them down.

Now that guy is potus, and still embodies the same qualities from the time of this story,

the later 1980's I think. Pig-headed is the nicest description that smells about right.

I loved this, Scott. You always start my day with hope!

1. I’m SO pleased that the message is loud that this is TRUMP’S shutdown! I do think Dems should hold the line! Especially since:

2. Federal workers themselves are urging Dems to do so! I’m so proud of these folks - my own sister is a Research Scientist under the government. These people are putting their money (or sacrificing their money) where their mouth is. 💪💕👏✌️

When the last shutdown occurred I had to donate money to help local Coast Guard families pay for food and medicine during the shutdown. This shut down was caused by Trump and now he is about to repeat his self centered behavior.

Absolutely the Dems should hold the line and force the shut down. I have the utmost respect for the government employees willing to sacrifice their paychecks in support of not succumbing to a fascist take-over. We need a national strike to coincide with the shutdown.
