Resistance Surges As AOC Slams Mike Johnson Over Epstein Files, Murphy Calls For Authentic Dems, and Pritzker Urges Us To Keep Fighting
A failing Trump is freaking out
As Trump hides from new Epstein revelations, I’m glad to have more great news for you today. I hope it gives you some relief from this regime’s chaos—even if just for a moment.
Thanks for being here. Let’s dive in.
PRITZKER SAYS KEEP FIGHTING
Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker slammed Trump, saying he thinks the Epstein files release “will be devastating” for him. Pritzker warned us that Trump’s “going to do everything in his power to distract,” even if it means taking “us to war with Venezuela.”
Pritzker also called the bogus shutdown deal an “enormous mistake,” slamming the folks who bent a knee to Trump. Pritzker said he’s “been on Team Fight from the very beginning … And I don’t appreciate when we’ve got Democrats who are caving in and doing basically what the Trump administration wants.”
“We were winning,” Pritzker stated. “I do not understand why people caved when we were on the verge of getting real change.” Neither do I.
MURPHY TOWN HALL
Dem Sen. Chris Murphy recently held a town hall at the New Hampshire Institute of Politics. “Our job right now is to fight,” Murphy said. “We have to show people … who we are, and it does involve a level of fight and sometimes a level of confrontation that can be uncomfortable.”
Murphy added: “[Trump] floods the zone, we have to flood the zone … We need to be posting not one video a day, but five, six, ten videos a day … We shouldn’t be vetting everything we say through our sort of consultancy filters … Say what you feel … Show your outrage.”
STARBUCKS STRIKE
Speaking of showing outrage, more than 1,000 Starbucks workers did just that yesterday—by going on strike in dozens of cities across America. Employees are demanding better pay and benefits. The workers are asking folks not to buy from the coffee chain until Starbucks relents. Sounds good to me!
Sen. Bernie Sanders said: “Starbucks isn’t a poor company. Last year, it made $3.6+ billion in profits ... while denying workers a living wage and decent benefits. Let’s stand in solidarity with striking Starbucks workers. Don’t cross the picket line.”
A NEW TRUMP SLUMP
Trump’s polling numbers are underwater on a number of issues. But none are as bad as his handling of the Epstein case, which sits at a -39 net approval. It’s a jaw dropping number, even for Trump. Maybe he should just release the files already.
TRUMP RAGES
Trump must realize the walls are closing in on the Epstein scandal, as he threw another ridiculous Truth Social tantrum this week. Trump said that “Only a very bad, or stupid, Republican would fall into that trap,” of voting to release the files.
When Trump was asked a question on Wednesday about the newly released Epstein emails, the Press was quickly pushed out of the room. And after signing an executive order yesterday, he refused to take any questions from reporters.
Is it just me, or does it seem like he’s freaking out more than ever?
BEST FRIENDS FOREVER
A constant reminder of Trump’s friendship with Epstein is back on display in DC. The infamous statue of the pair holding hands now resides in front of the famous Busboys and Poets cafe.
The group behind the statue wrote: “Much like Trump’s name in an Epstein e-mail dump, we have popped our head out to say an unannounced hello.”
AOC ON EPSTEIN FILES
In the halls of the US Capitol, Dem Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez said: “It seems as though Donald Trump had a very close personal relationship with Jeffrey Epstein, and that he had personally spent time with victims in the Epstein operation, and I think that this is just … it’s horrifying.”
AOC said it all “in a very damning way … implicates Speaker Mike Johnson … as to why he refused to call the House back into session.”
Later, AOC stated: “Republicans have been trying to deflect and diminish Trump’s close relationship with Jeffrey Epstein by delaying the release of the Epstein files. But now they can’t hide. It’s time for the truth to come to light and for the DOJ to release the files.”
AOC is spot on. We cannot let them hide, and we can’t stop pushing for the release of the Epstein files. It’s a scandal I’ve been covering since 2016, and there’s no way I will let up now.
Our Contact Congress effort and our massive social media reach will continue to keep the pressure on lawmakers at a constant. But we need all hands on deck.
