Biden Defends Democracy in Oval Office Address

President Biden gave a speech from the Oval Office this evening.

What I saw was clear proof that Joe Biden should be re-elected. Especially during tragedy, Biden has always been there for America.

It was stoic, strong, stern and presidential.

"I want to speak to you tonight about the need for us to lower the temperature in our politics yesterday's shooting at Donald Trump's rally in Pennsylvania calls on all of us to take a step back."

"A former president was shot, an American citizen killed while simply exercising his freedom to support the candidate of his choosing. We cannot, we must not go down this road in America–we can't allow this violence to be normalized.”

"I'll continue to speak out strongly for our democracy, stand up for our Constitution and the rule of law, to call for action at the ballot box–no violence in our streets. That's how democracy should work–we resolve our differences at the ballot box, not with bullets.”

“Violence has never been the answer, whether it was with members of both parties of congress being shot or a violent mob attacking the capitol on January 6th or the brutal attack on the spouse of the former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi.”

“We stand for an America, not of extremism and fury, but of decency and grace.”
