Border Agent Arrested in CA, Trump Gets Loudly Booed, and More Great News

Yesterday, Donald Trump left his New Jersey bunker to attend the FIFA Club World Cup at MetLife Stadium in Rutherford, NJ. Trump was loudly booed multiple times.

Corporate media tried to act like he received a “mixed reception,” and lied saying people were cheering for Trump at one point. When folks were clearly supporting the band Coldplay as they came on stage.

But that wasn’t the worst of it. After the game, the winning team Chelsea went to the stage to collect their various medals and trophies.

In the first picture above, you can see Trump extremely confused when the team hoisted up their trophy—while FIFA head Gianni Infantino gestures for Trump to leave. In the middle image, Infantino walked over to pull a bewildered Trump behind the team. And in the last picture you can see Trump sulking.

This was a complete waste of taxpayer dollars. But what came out of the experience was terrible for Trump. Good.

In Long Beach, California, off-duty Border Patrol agent Isaiah Hodgson was arrested and charged with resisting officers, injuring an officer, and other weapons-related crimes. He was apparently armed and drunk as a skunk at a bar—where he followed a woman into the bathroom.

After he was asked to leave—but didn’t—police were called. Hodgson refused to identify himself—sounds familiar for these federal agents. He then fought the officers, injuring at least one, before they had to use a stun gun on Hodgson.

Why is this great news? Well, it serves as a clear reminder that federal agents can be arrested when they break the law. If they assault people—or kidnap them—or commit any crimes at all, they can and should end up in handcuffs.

“No one is above the law, regardless of their position or badge,” LA County DA Nathan Hochman said. He’s right, but it shouldn’t take this level of carnage for them to end up behind bars. I hope we start to see more state and local law enforcement standing up for the people.

In Tampa Bay, FL, there was a protest held outside a conference for the ultra-rightwing Turning Point USA. It’s great to see folks push back against this hateful organization. And yes, that is a protester wearing a giant roll of toilet paper, acting as a sort of mascot for “TPUSA.”

On MSNBC, Dem Rep. Jamie Raskin tore into Trump and Bondi over their Epstein file coverup. Raskin said they “all were demanding these files be released … Now they want to wave a magic wand and make it all go away … either Trump is covering up for himself … other people … or he's covering up for the fact that nothing was there.”

Raskin then makes the point that Trump may just want “to have leverage over the people … whose names are actually on Epstein's list.”

Trump supporters are so mad about the Epstein files, they’re even setting their maga hats on fire. Talk about a hot take. It’s funny how quickly they burn.

As a reminder, the next mass protest is set for Thursday, July 17th—to fight back against Trump, and honor the late great John Lewis.
