Hello Kimberly, I’d be interested in hearing your bullet points on why you like Harris. This is a friendly request. I’ve already got a stack of books (currently reading The Liberal Redneck Manifesto … highly recommend!) so I’d love your feedback. I haven’t been able to find much on Kamala as VP. My current impression is she’s devoted a lot of her time to social justice.
Well, yes, we will win - for Democracy and for our lives, it's never been about a person/candidate. And that will be our success. 🤞🏻
Sadly, at this point we can't "make it up to" Biden after the Democrats harangued him so much and dragged him through the mud in the public arena ...and weakened the party as well. Yes, there will be all the blathering accolades about his patriotism and legacy and wise decision and the good of the country and blah blah blah.... I guess some people think we'll forget the talk about his alleged ego and stubbornness and selfishness, etc etc.
me, too. My hero. I think Dems did him a disservice but fingers crossed it all works out for the best. My heart and health can't take another 2016 debacle. It just can't. Nor can the nation's/ planet's.
In sentiment, a thousand times yes! But here in Southern California, we now have long term Republicans re-registering as Independent and in some cases Democrat, because (R) on the ballot is toxic. So "True blue no matter who!"
Really?? That’s awesome to hear. I was a long time Republican until Trump. Now I’m an independent, but voting all blue until the Republican Party changes its policies.
Yes, an example is billionaire real estate developer Rick Caruso - he was an (R) then "decline to state" starting in 2011 when he thought about running for office. He registered as a (D) weeks before jumping into the LA mayor race in January 2022. Thankfully, he lost.
Didn’t Trump do that? How do we know they are truly embracing the independent or democratic parties and not just trying to get in the door? I hope they are honestly moving. Just call me cynical.
Goodness I hope this is the right call… I have zero issues with supporting Kamala (also HELL YES woman president!!!) but this late in the game, and how disastrous everything has been leading up to this (both sides, but mostly how the dems have turned against Biden who i respect and adore) really make me question our chances in this. A divided front isn’t a strong one. I hope this unites us.
I have to agree but let's focus on turning this into a victory for our democracy, women, the climate. The alternative of Trump and project 2025, is too horrible to allow.
Charlene, are you saying that you don’t support Biden’s endorsement of Harris? Who do you recommend? Do you think there should be a brokered convention?
I agree. I’m terrified because there are too many racist bigots on both sides. I do think she can bring the hammer, but will that be enough. The fact that Dems are so divided right now, isn’t comforting
Screw the so-called powers that be. They dragged this party down for years. The voters are speaking overwhelmingly for Harris. For once Dem leadership needs to listen to the voters. We’re the ones who will do the GOTV work and make this happen. As for those whining about racism being a concern, stand up and have the courage to speak against this or join the racist Republicans. President Biden has set a standard for courage. Honor his courage by moving this party forward not backward.
I believe we need to concentrate the efforts on her talents experience skills and her focus on the future. Don’t make it the “first woman president” as her only topic of discussion! It didn’t work for Hillary Clinton for the electoral college. She is a talented smart person in her own right. The news media journalists will harp on this to death.
Change the subject when asked. Even her supporters should switch the topic from “woman president” to abortion rights, Ukraine, economy compared to the rest of the world, the border solution was nixed by Trump. etc.
I like Pete a LOT but I don't think, given the deep schism in America, that a Black female running with a gay man has the chance of a snowball in hell.
Everyone might want to refresh themselves on what happened to the Democrats after President Lyndon Johnson dropped out and didn't run for a second term. They were in extreme disarray ... and they LOST.
I want to be wrong. You have no idea how profoundly and deeply I want to be wrong ... but gratitude is critical. And the Democrats have not been grateful to President Biden.
You have a valid point, but, I don’t think many on the right would actually vote for a woman of color. The old white mans party is a bunch of racist, misogynistic and holes that can’t seem to understand that it’s about democracy vs autocracy. It’s mind numbing.
What we do next will tell us all just how far our country has come. This country did not elect Hillary Clinton when we had a chance to do the right thing & elect our first woman president. This is our chance to do the right thing this time. We must elect Kamala Harris as our President.
I trusted Joe Biden to do great things for America and he excelled my expectations. Today I equally trust that his decision is what he truly believes is best for America, and we owe it to him to finish what he started.
I'm in. If we can't elect a woman as President in this election we're lost forever. We'll be doomed to repeat the consequences of 2016.
Expect the GOP to pull the same crap as they did in 2008 and 2012 to deride and discredit Kamala Harris. They're already dining on Usha Vance. And MSM is going to continue their pretense that Trump is fit to lead, the soulless bastards.
We must stand and vote to save our democracy, and ourselves. If we don't hang together, we'll be AR-15 targets. Sooner than later. If that sounds like hyperbole, go back and listen to the speeches from last week's Trump extravaganza.
The depth of his character shown by putting the country first, by understanding that staying in might cost us ALL of the branches of government is clear. I so appreciate and respect him and hope we rise to the occasion to defeat the felon and his tech oligarch pick for VP. Biden lives and breathes empathy and compassion. His now former opponent doesn’t know the meaning of either.
I will vote for the Democratic nominee, but Pres Biden’s choice of Kamala Harris VP is an excellent one.
As someone who hasn’t recovered from 16, please, please Democrats unite around a candidate&go all out to support the candidate.
Please no division. Let’s move forward together
Kamala Harris has my full support.
Yes Suki we must unite! We did it in 2020 so why can’t we do it now? I am all in for Kamala!!
Me too🌸
I am sorry for President Biden. He is a good decent man.
Let's make it up to him by winning big
Yes, he did the right thing and is a good person, deserving respect.
Good point, Barbara. I will definitely vote for Kamala. I’ve been impressed by her ever since I read her autobiography in 2019.

I didn’t know she had a book out. What’s it called?
Well, yes, we will win - for Democracy and for our lives, it's never been about a person/candidate. And that will be our success. 🤞🏻

I like that 💪
I was really wanting to vote for Biden. I think he's been doing a great job.
Kamala Harris is part of his administration's success, and she definitely has my vote, too.
I hope he takes his opportunity to go out and style with lots of positive fanfare. We definitely owe him so much.
Well, he's not done! There are almost 6mos left of his presidency!
Same here.
me, too. My hero. I think Dems did him a disservice but fingers crossed it all works out for the best. My heart and health can't take another 2016 debacle. It just can't. Nor can the nation's/ planet's.
I’ll be tracking endorsements for Harris here https://substack.com/profile/1054333-scott-dworkin/note/c-62811549?r=mlj1&utm_medium=ios&utm_source=notes-share-action
Blue no matter who!

Absolutely!
Absolutely!!
I Support His Decision Now We Must Come Together To Defeat Donald Trump And Nominate Kamala Harris To Be The Next President Of The United States
We must elect Kamala Harris as our next President of this United States of America.
Yes! I also support his decision!! Let’s show Trump that he IS done for good!!!
President Obama, get on board fight now.
Not going to happen.
No need to scream, there is a lot of work to be done.
can you be more specific?
Oh Thank God. FINALLY some Clarity! Thank you Joe Biden. One of the BEST Presidents our country has ever had. Let's go beat the pants off of MAGA!!
Thank u!
President Biden had my full support until his decision was made to hopefully pass the torch to Kamala Harris.
Charlene, are you saying that you don’t support Biden’s endorsement of Harris? Who do you recommend? Do you think there should be a brokered convention?
I most definitely support Kamala Harris for our president. No we should not have a brokered convention. We have our nominee in Kamala Harris.
Kimmy, I agree with you 100%. I am heartbroken at the shocking lack of gratitude for all that President Biden has done for America.
As Bernie Sanders said, "Joe Biden has been the best president and accomplished more than any president in my lifetime."
And Democratic leadership threw him to the curb. I am heartbroken.
I agree. I’m terrified because there are too many racist bigots on both sides. I do think she can bring the hammer, but will that be enough. The fact that Dems are so divided right now, isn’t comforting
Thank-you President Joe Biden! Please live to see 100!
I support Vice President Harris and her future running mate! We must unite to save democracy!
I can't help but feel incredibly excited! I honestly hope she chooses Sec Pete as her running mate!
Yes, I agree with Buttegeig (sp)! Let's hope the dem powers that be have a plan in place!
Screw the so-called powers that be. They dragged this party down for years. The voters are speaking overwhelmingly for Harris. For once Dem leadership needs to listen to the voters. I think that could be an excellent choice. What about another female Democrat???
I believe we need to concentrate the efforts on her talents experience skills and her focus on the future. Don’t make it the “first woman president” as her only topic of discussion! This is an astute and strategic approach! I agree.
I agree as well
Can't win.
Harris has to give Republicans a reason to abandon Trump, and it is not Pete Buttigieg.
I like Pete a LOT but I don't think, given the deep schism in America, that a Black female running with a gay man has the chance of a snowball in hell.

I want to be wrong. You have no idea how profoundly and deeply I want to be wrong ... but gratitude is critical. And the Democrats have not been grateful to President Biden.
In my humble opinion, they are fools.
All that being said, I shall still vote BLUE.
You have a valid point, but, I don’t think many on the right would actually vote for a woman of color. The old white mans party is a bunch of racist, misogynistic and holes that can’t seem to understand that it’s about democracy vs autocracy. It’s mind numbing.
That won’t happen - but you can wish

Vote Blue.
Let’s do this. Kamala Harris for President!!!!!
Yes yes yes!!!
He’s been a wonderful president, so much better than his predecessor. And he’s also an amazing human being.
I have to trust that Joe knows best. I’ll be a proud supporter of our first female brown President!!
I love this: :Joe knows best'. Great slogan for Kamala. Does substack hashtag? #JoeKnowsBest
Ohhh I love that!
