FIRED CBS JOURNALIST: THEY WANTED FAKE NEWS

Fired 60 Minutes correspondent Cecilia Vega says CBS executives asked her to falsify video evidence. She says they pushed her to slip fabricated footage of protesters attacking ICE agents into a story about Renee Good and Alex Pretti—two Americans killed by federal agents in Minnesota.

She says she refused there—and again on Iran coverage, and again on a story about the regime’s SNAP cuts starving West Virginia families. Vega, the first Latina correspondent in the show’s history, says she told them no every time. She was fired in May—given no reason—nearly a year before her contract was set to expire.

CBS denies everything, calling Vega’s account “not based in reality”—while confirming, in that same statement, that none of the disputed material ever aired. If Vega’s right, CBS didn’t bury the story. It tried to invent one.

A JUDGE ISN’T DONE WITH THE DOJ

Days after DOJ lawyers backed down and withdrew their subpoenas against The New York Times reporters, the judge who beat them wasn’t finished.

Federal Judge Arun Subramanian ordered the DOJ to hand over its internal emails: why it sought the subpoenas, why it tried to keep the whole thing secret, and whether it hid from the court that the subpoenas targeted journalists’ private communications. The DOJ has since asked for more time to comply.

Prosecutors had already admitted in his courtroom that their filings weren’t accurate. Then, standing in the Oval Office, Trump confirmed exactly what this was about: unmasking sources. “The way you find them is through journalists.” DOJ’s own policy treats subpoenaing journalists as a last resort. Trump just told everyone it was the first move.

There’s more the regime tried to bury. In the same investigation aimed at unmasking a source, the DOJ quietly subpoenaed Google to identify whoever was behind a specific phone number. Then it gagged Google from ever telling that person. Google fought the gag order in court—and won.

The judge is about to get the regime’s private emails, sealed from the public, to find out exactly what it was hiding.

TRUMP HID THE BILL FOR HIS JET

A new investigation into Trump’s Qatari-donated jet found something worse than his usual vanity project. The Air Force told Congress the retrofit would cost just under $400 million. Count the whole modernization program this jet belongs to, and the real number is $5.1 billion.

Real safety gear got cut along the way—no emergency lower exit, no backup power unit, no antimissile system—the kind of equipment that’s been standard on Air Force One for decades.

They paid for part of it by pulling hundreds of millions out of a classified nuclear weapons budget—a move that kept the true cost from the lawmakers whose job is watching it. Sen. Chris Murphy has been asking the Pentagon to explain that for months. Nothing back yet.

Right now, Murphy can only ask. Flip Congress in November, and he gets subpoena power instead of silence.

COURTS TELL TRUMP HANDS OFF THE MAIL

The regime tried to rush a ballot purge past a federal court. It got nowhere instead.

The First Circuit Court of Appeals denied Trump’s request to let the Postal Service withhold mail ballots—his plan to punish states that refused to hand their unredacted voter rolls to the DOJ.

The ruling keeps his order frozen in 23 states and Washington, DC—a 2 to 1 decision that held. Even the one judge Trump appointed to that panel only dissented in part, unable to find cover for the regime’s full ask.

US District Judge Indira Talwani’s ruling stands exactly as she wrote it: the Postal Service has no authority to hold your ballot hostage to a political demand.

The mail isn’t a weapon, and three judges just made sure Trump can’t use it like one. The regime is already running to the Supreme Court asking them to intervene. But for now, in 23 states, four months before voters settle this themselves, Trump’s plan is blocked cold.
