Celebrate The Fourth Of July With This News That’s Terrible For Trump
Protests throughout the holiday weekend, Biden and Harris call out the GOP, and more
With the big evil bill passing, and smug Republicans running victory laps over stealing healthcare from millions of Americans, I’m happy to have another edition of Great News for you today. I hope it gives you some relief—even if just for a moment.
Our work is made possible only by the support of readers like you. It’s how we fund our journalism and advocacy, while keeping us 100% independent of ads and corporate overlords. So if you haven’t yet, please become a paid subscriber today:
Across the country, hundreds of pro-democracy anti-Trump protests are being held today, and throughout the holiday weekend. We all know corporate media won’t report on it fairly—but don’t worry, we’ve got you covered.
Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor wrote a scathing dissent against the court’s ruling on sending immigrants to South Sudan, stating: “Today’s order clarifies only one thing: Other litigants must follow the rules, but the administration has the Supreme Court on speed dial.” Ouch.
Chair of the Federal Reserve Jerome Powell said he would’ve cut interest rates already, if not for Trump tariffs. Naturally, Trump responded with a major toddler-style meltdown on social media about it. Add that to the long list of why Trump should have no tariff powers.
Before Republicans passed their big evil bill yesterday, Dem Leader Hakeem Jeffries gave the longest House floor speech ever, lasting more than 8 hours. There wasn’t much else Democrats could do at that point, so I’m glad Jeffries did it.
One of my favorite lines from the record-breaking speech was when Jeffries called out the GOP’s blatant hypocrisy, saying: “you got some people in this town who go to church and pray on Sunday, and then they come to Congress and prey on the American people.”
Dem Rep. Jasmine Crockett torched the big evil bill, stating: “Republicans didn’t pass this bill for the people. They passed it to please Trump, protect the powerful, and push cruelty disguised as policy … I’m going to keep fighting back against the Republicans’ attacks on the American people every step of the way.” So are we.
Fmr. VP Kamala Harris said: “Republicans in Congress have voted to devastate millions of people across our nation … This is Project 2025 in action.” Just like Harris warned us about all along.
And former President Joe Biden heavily criticized the GOP with this statement: “The Republican budget bill is not only reckless—it’s cruel … All of this to give a massive tax break to billionaires. Working people deserve better.”
On election night in 2024, I made a promise to keep pushing—no matter what. And even though this evil bill passed, it doesn’t change our mission or our momentum. The Trump regime has pulled hard on the rubber band, but it always snaps back.
It’s 487 days until the midterm elections, and we won’t rest for any of it. I haven’t taken a day off for almost a year. And I’m not about to slow down now.
So folks, here’s the deal. I’m going to keep delivering unfiltered news to you every single day. We’ll keep pushing our Contact Congress campaign—which has grown exponentially. And our social media initiatives will keep going strong.
But in order to do so, we need your help.
We are completely funded by our readers—no billionaires, no ads, and no nonsense. So if you haven’t yet, please join us as a paid subscriber today:
