Yes. I am thinking impeachment of the entire enabling insane administration is in order. They were both flying under the radar for years, fully protected by the gigantic swamp of DC. He’s not able to stop this. He’s gonna regret descending that escalator…

IMPEACH CONVICT AND REMOVE THEM ALL!

Expand full comment
Susanna J. Sturgis's avatar

As we've seen from the two Trump impeachments and the one impeachment of Bill Clinton, impeachment alone doesn't solve anything. Conviction has to follow. How likely do you think that is as long as Republicans control both the House and the Senate? And how would impeaching a whole administration work?

Expand full comment
Sandy S's avatar

Actually, this coming weeks vote to open the Epstein file will have a lot to do with how an impeachment trial would go. If as many Republicans vote to open the file as is being reported, there will be no going back for any of them to be protected under DJT's wing. They will be RINOS and worse. They will be likely to vote him OUT! After we see what is in the files, who knows what that will reveal???? Could look rather empty in the GOP ranks!!! :-)

See my comment just below about the 25th Amendment. It's possible for the vice president to become "acting president" without impeachment and conviction.

Expand full comment
Lisa Nystrom's avatar

I need to go back and reread the Constitution. 🤔

Expand full comment
Susanna J. Sturgis's avatar

In addition to Article II, Section 4, the 25th Amendment is worth looking at. In addition to impeachment, it provides that the vice president can become "Acting President" if the vice president and a majority of the cabinet officers agree. This can be temporary, for instance if the president is recovering from surgery or a serious accident. Wikipedia's discussion of "the 25th" is worth reading: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Twenty-fifth_Amendment_to_the_United_States_Constitution

Lisa Nystrom's avatar

I know that part. I want them all gone…I know… I am crazy, right? They are all complicit. Take it all the way back to the hush money conviction… throw in Jan 6th, the fake electors, the pardons, now the Epstein files coverup attempt…. All accomplices. I thought treason nullified the whole presidency…

Expand full comment
Cass's avatar

Me too. I try and try to understand the 25th. It's heavy. The medical team should be advising the family; everyone can see he's a sick, demented cretin with a possibly incurable mental and physical health status. Shame forever on the docs and family who continue to allow this incompetent thing to continue to wreck our Constitution and our lives. I'd lay odds there's no

medical or financial poa arranged.

The Roy Cohn playbook is, at long last, failing the increasingly senile Dump.

The big questions now are whether military commanders will obey if he issues orders to attack Venezuela and/or Nigeria, and whether the MAGAt Legislative Branch will go along.

Expand full comment
Elaine Lueras's avatar

Of course they will go along with orders to attack Venezuela. We cannot expect the military to save us, oath to the Constitution or not. They will do what they are told or face courts- martial and the loss of their careers. Venezuelans are not Americans so they can squeak by in their own minds with justification for murder. Many in the Armed Forces voted for Donnie Diddler, they are all in. The military brass have already presented the Fat 🍊 Fuhrer with military strike plans. Do you want American men and women dying in a faux fight with Venezuela? Because, guess what, the Venezuelans are going to shoot back.

Expand full comment
Maria Devereux's avatar

And not just Venezuelans- expect Russian affiliated mercenaries, Cubans, and other hardened South American guerilla groups to pile on, backed by Chinese money. You'd think the US would have learned the lesson not to start unnecessary wars by now.

Expand full comment
Elaine Lueras's avatar

Yes, especially in this case. Donnie Dungpile has been threatening this for months...so the Venezuelan government has had plenty of warning and are taking Fat Boi's threats seriously. They are prepared.

Braun has a plan believe me. He will write an executive order for Indiana redistricting. But, it’s already gerrymandered to hell anyway so it might not be anything. Plus, remember Indiana went blue for Obama in 2008.

Oh, I remember 2008! And you're right, we are already gerrymandered beyond recognition. I don't think Braun is smart enough to be thinking two/three (or even one!) steps ahead to have a plan, but I could be wrong.
