Chicago Mayor Calls For General Strike Against Trump, Paid-Protester-Lie Debunked, New Epstein Revelations, and Mike Johnson Once Again Flails On Sunday TV
Resistance rises to new heights
While Trump tries to distract from the fact that millions of patriots protested against him this weekend, I’m glad to have more great news for you today. Let’s jump in.
A GENERAL STRIKE
During Chicago’s colossal No Kings protest—where an estimated 250,000 people attended—Mayor Brandon Johnson defiantly called for a general strike. Johnson declared: “If my ancestors, as slaves, can lead the greatest general strike in the history of this country ... then we can do the same today.”
Demanding all Americans “stand up to this tyranny,” Johnson said: “Democracy will live on because of this generation.” He then asked: “Are you ready to take it to the courts and to the streets?” Calling for a general strike is a huge deal—but at this point every peaceful option needs to be on the table.
FACT CHECK: PEOPLE GETTING PAID
Speaking of protests, I’ve heard the same lie for decades from desperate Republicans. Every time there’s a mass protest against them, they lie and say the demonstrators are paid. It’s complete nonsense—a silly conspiracy theory grounded in no truth.
The GOP acts like George Soros is some mastermind funding everything. But as someone who has run one of the biggest anti-Trump organizations ever, I can tell you we never gotten a dime from him. And all of the No Kings 2.0 protesters I’ve spoken with happily paid their own way.
At the rally in Detroit, Dem State Senator Mallory McMorrow went around asking folks how much they were being paid. Everyone said the same thing—nothing. One protester proudly answered: “Zilch!” While wearing a shirt that said: “Paid? I hate him for free.”
TRUMP SINKS IN NEW POLL
We should always take polls with a grain of salt, but a recent AP-NORC poll has Trump down to his lowest approval rating for this term. New polls should be out this week—let’s see if the No Kings protests sink him even lower.
FOLLOWING THE EPSTEIN MONEY
The Epstein scandal continues to close in on Trump and Republicans in Congress. On Saturday, The New York Times released a bombshell report covering Epstein’s ties to one of the most powerful people on Wall Street—billionaire Leon Black.
Black—whose son was nominated by Trump to lead a key federal agency—paid between $158 and $170 million to Epstein, for what was described as “tax- and estate-planning services.” The New York Times also said: “Mr. Black wired hundreds of thousands of dollars to at least three women who were associated with Mr. Epstein.”
Dem Sen. Ron Wyden, who has been investigating Epstein’s financial dealings, said this report “raises questions as to whether there was more at play in the relationship between these two men, potentially including blackmail.” It’s way past time for Congress to release the files!
JOHNSON CAUGHT AGAIN
Speaker Mike Johnson was back on TV Sunday pathologically lying to the world. Johnson spoke in circles about his refusal to swear in Dem Rep.-Elect Adelita Grijalva.
When asked about Hegseth’s press loyalty pledge at the Pentagon, Johnson deflected and said he couldn’t remember a more transparent Secretary of Defense. What? That’s just beyond absurd—but sadly, it’s the best we can expect from Trump and his cult.
Which is why I’ve spent nearly a decade taking them on. We’re constantly calling out their lies and corruption—via our daily news reports, our massive social media campaigns, and our unmatched Contact Congress initiative.
And everything we do is funded only by amazing supporters like you. No billionaires, no ads, no nonsense. So if you haven’t already, please join us as a paid subscriber today:

Yes, I would support a general strike. I am fortunate since I am retired it won't affect me that much. Those who possibly can, should refuse to go to work, refuse to buy from any corporate entity (keeping local shops and farms supported is important though), and refuse to stream or watch legacy or corporate media. And use the time to call our Congresspersons.
