WARREN HANDS DEMS MIDTERM WEAPON
In January, Trump called Dem Sen. Elizabeth Warren after she’d just finished excoriating him in a speech at the National Press Club. She used the opportunity to pitch him on housing. He bit.
On Thursday of last week, the Senate passed the 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act 89-10. Warren turned his phone call into a 303-page bill that bans investors from hoarding single-family homes, incentivizes new construction, and converts abandoned buildings into housing. Trump backed it publicly, but his party in the House is now calling it communist.
Warren responded with a warning: “House Republicans should immediately take up this bill and pass it. If they do not, they will have to explain to families across the country in November why they refused to lower the cost of housing.”
Trump thought he was calling to manage Warren. Instead she secured the largest housing bill in thirty years and handed the GOP an impossible choice—pass it, or go on record opposing lower housing costs.
WASHINGTON STATE MAKES RICH PEOPLE PAY
While House Republicans drag their feet on affordability, Democrats in the Washington state legislature passed a 9.9% tax on income above $1 million.
Gov. Bob Ferguson, who plans to sign it, said: “The inequities of our state’s tax structure have been exacerbated by [Trump’s] massive tax cuts for the wealthy—an unprecedented upward transfer of wealth that makes the rich even wealthier while hardworking people are overburdened.”
The millionaires tax will generate an estimated $3.7 billion a year for schools, health care, and direct relief for working families. It will affect less than one percent of residents.
FEDERAL JUDGE BLOCKS REGIME
While Washington state makes the wealthy pay more, a federal judge delivered another big loss for the regime.
As part of Trump’s ongoing retaliation campaign, US Attorney for DC Jeanine Pirro’s office issued subpoenas against Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell—under the guise of a renovation investigation. On Friday of last week, Judge James Boasberg stepped in and blocked those subpoenas.
Boasberg stated: “There is abundant evidence that the subpoenas’ dominant, if not sole, purpose is to harass and pressure Powell either to yield to the President or to resign and make way for a Fed Chair who will. The Government has offered no evidence whatsoever that Powell committed any crime other than displeasing the President.”
That’s a federal judge in a signed opinion declaring that Trump used the DOJ to threaten a non-partisan federal official into submission. Not an allegation or an op-ed—it’s a court finding, permanently on the record.
Even GOP Sen. Thom Tillis—who has vowed to stall any Trump Fed Board nominees until the probe into Powell is dropped—called it “nothing more than a failed attack on Fed independence.”
SHAPIRO SHUTS DOWN ICE PRISONS
The Trump regime quietly bought two Pennsylvania warehouses—with no permits, no community notice, no environmental review—and announced plans to convert them into detention facilities holding up to 9,000 people.
PA Gov. Josh Shapiro responded with the power of the pen, issuing five administrative orders through the state Dept. of Environmental Protection. The orders block water and sewage service to the warehouses, and prohibit anyone from occupying them until DHS shows compliance with all federal and state environmental regulations.
ICE’s plans would require up to 900,000 gallons of water per day at Tremont alone—90% of all available stored water in the entire local system. The infrastructure doesn’t exist. The permits don’t exist. DHS can’t open these facilities.
“We know, for example,” Shapiro said, “in Tremont, if this is built they will literally run out of water within 24 hours. That means they literally won’t be able to turn on the water in their kitchen and fill up a pot of water. They won’t be able to flush the toilet.”
The regime bought two warehouses. Shapiro shut them down with a pen.
The Dworkin Report exists not only to document these wins, but to lead the resistance—as we have for a decade now.

I have two questions for you today.
Should the wealthy pay more in taxes?
Do you think House Republicans will pass the housing bill before the midterms?
