Exclusive Investigation: Here’s What The Trump Regime Isn’t Telling You About Saturday’s Security Breach
The threat was contained. The exploitation of it was just beginning
I didn’t want to write this—because what happened Saturday night was beyond reprehensible.
But I’m sick of the lies the Trump regime has built on top of it, and I’m so tired of a corporate media that repeats them with no questions asked.
By Monday, the regime had turned the White House Correspondents’ Dinner shooting into a national emergency and a bogus justification for building Trump’s ballroom—as Republicans in Congress quickly introduced legislation to pay for it with taxpayer dollars. They’ve even had the gall to say people who call Trump a fascist—for being a fascist—are to blame.
I helped run former President Obama’s inaugural train ride from Philadelphia to DC in 2009, where I had to work with every level of our national security infrastructure. I was cleared by the Secret Service to not only work for, but to stand next to Obama the night he was sworn in as president in front of the world.
When I tell you the regime is exploiting a crisis, I mean it. Our exclusive analysis is proof—sources spoken to, documents pulled, manifesto read, building layout analyzed.
I wrote this to be shared. There are people in your life right now who have heard nothing but the Trump regime’s version of Saturday night. Hit the ❤️ like button and re-stack this to put our findings in front of someone who needs to see them.
THE THREAT WAS CONTAINED
On Saturday night, an armed man breached security at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner before being stopped a floor above Trump.
Alleged gunman Cole Allen walked down ten flights, emerged one floor above Trump, and ran through the security scanner. He never reached the floor Trump was on. Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche confirmed it: “This man was a floor above the ballroom, with hundreds of federal agents between him and the president of the United States.”
Allen allegedly fired his shotgun toward the stairs that led down to the ballroom. A Secret Service officer took a bullet in the chest—his vest stopped it—then the agent returned fire.
The suspect went down. Trump was never in a direct line of fire and was surrounded by armed agents within seconds. The security held.
THE BALLROOM IS NOT THE ANSWER
Within hours of the shooting, the DOJ sent a letter to the conservation group whose litigation against the regime is blocking Trump’s ballroom from being built. The DOJ demanded the group drop their lawsuit immediately, citing Saturday’s incident as justification.
Obama’s former government lawyer Greg Craig said it all when writing back to the DOJ on behalf of the group: “What Saturday’s awful event does not change is that the Constitution and multiple federal statutes require Congress to authorize construction of a ballroom on White House grounds, and that Congress has not done so.”
Acting AG Blanche and his deputy replied by filing a motion legal reporters called unlike anything they had ever seen. The DOJ called the group “FAKE” and accused them of “TRUMP DERANGEMENT SYNDROME”—a made-up insult Trump uses for anyone who disagrees with him. In all caps, in a federal court document.
A judge has already ruled the rebuild unlawful. And even if they were still doing construction, it wouldn’t be finished for years.
And besides—the organization behind the Correspondents’ Dinner would never hold it there anyway. Moving it to a government-owned venue would destroy the press independence that is the entire point of the event.
Multiple bills were introduced in the House and Senate this week to fund the ballroom using taxpayer money—even though Trump repeatedly promised private donors would pay for it.
Senator Lindsey Graham penned one of the bills, saying: “I am convinced if there had been a presidential ballroom adjacent to the White House the guy never would have gotten in.” A reporter immediately pointed out the dinner was a private event at a private location—holding more than twice as many guests as the proposed ballroom. Graham had no answer.
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez ripped it to shreds: “Hell no. The idea that they’re going to build this palace on the taxpayer’s dime—after they said that whatever billionaire they had a sweetheart deal with was going to foot the bill—is not acceptable.”
DEMOCRATS DID NOT CAUSE THIS
I read the document the alleged shooter left behind explaining his actions. He named no Democrats. Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt blamed nine Democrats anyway, including Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro—whose official residence was firebombed last year. But the regime’s propaganda about the manifesto didn’t stop there.
Trump lied and told Fox the manifesto showed the suspect “hates Christians.” It actually showed him writing as a Christian believer to justify the attack.
Right-wing media has been calling the suspect a “Democratic operative” because he donated $25 to Kamala Harris in 2024. But a $25 donation does not make that true.
Former White House aide Katie Miller is the wife of senior Trump adviser Stephen Miller. She told Fox it was “no mistake” the suspect is from California—implying Gov. Gavin Newsom inspired the attack. There is zero proof of that.
Newsom responded: “The President has openly celebrated the deaths of his political opponents, called Democrats and immigrants ‘vermin’ who are ‘poisoning the blood of our country’ ... The same folks cheering Trump’s threats don’t get to rewrite the narrative now.”
He’s right. No one in American politics has used more violent rhetoric than Trump. No one.
ANALYSIS FROM SOMEONE WHO WORKED NEXT TO A PRESIDENT
After analyzing everything that happened that night, and since, here is what I see.
This entire failure was based on one decision: the regime declined to give this dinner the highest security classification. That is a federal designation that would have locked down the entire hotel and required screening for every guest.
The alleged shooter checked in the day before the event with weapons in his suitcase. Nobody checked the bag, due to the security gap that was created by the regime’s failure—the regime alone made that call. Former FBI official Jason Pack said: “He didn’t beat the security plan the night of the dinner. He beat it the day he made the reservation.”
Every security professional in the country knows that the heightened designation would have prevented the encounter. The regime knows it too, but this is what authoritarian governments do—use any opportunity they can to convert crises into power grabs. This is not the first time it’s happened and it won’t be the last.
What you just read doesn’t exist anywhere else. It only happens here because readers fund what we do. Corporate media has the same documents, but they’ll never report it this way. Because they’re owned by billionaires and advertisers who can easily be pressured by Trump.

I have one question for you, and I’d love to hear your response in the comments.
Trump said private donors would fund the ballroom. Now it’s our tax dollars. What changed?
