Right now, because he is being protected by the DOJ and FBI, others believe they will be covered under the same umbrella, or if convicted, will be granted a sweetheart deal like Maxwell’s if they promise to keep their mouths shut. DJT knows that if they start talking, he’s done unless the investigations into their actions are kept hidden. The big problem for DJT is the inept cover-up. Running for president was his biggest mistake. If he had never run for president, his involvement in the Epstein scandal, as well as his conviction on his other felonious actions, would have been kept under the radar. Bottom line, if DJT falls, they fall. If they fall first, DJT may still not fall – at least until he’s out of office.

Once they are and the public reads what Trump did the tide will turn even harder away from the Republicans. Casey Means will be confirmed as Surgeon General despite being unqualified because the GOP is still afraid of Trump. Six months from now the story will be very different, but for now Trump still holds too much power over the GOP base for any Republicans to want to anger him. The Texas primary will result in Ken Paxton as the GOP nominee and Talarico as the Democratic. Cornyn will either refuse or just perfunctorially endorse Paxton, and this November Texas will elect Talarico. Trump will be dead in the water by then, and when the Democrats take control of Congress next year his presidency will be over. Not that he still won't be able to do great damage. When he's impeached for the third time sometime next year enough GOPer Senators will be willing to vote to convict him to remove him from office. Vance will serve out the remainder of the term and in January 2029 will crawl back under his rock for good.
