From A Freezing Protest To A Rally Outside Mar-a-Lago: They Can't Silence The Resistance

PUTIN IS A LIAR

On Monday, Russia claimed—without offering any evidence—that Ukraine launched an attack on one of Putin’s residences. Zelensky said this was a “complete fabrication.” But Trump, of course, acted outraged and believed Putin anyway.

Even GOP Rep. Don Bacon pushed back, saying Trump “should get the facts first before assuming blame” and that “Putin is a well-known [bald-faced] liar.”

After years of bombing Ukrainian cities and multiple alleged assassination attempts on Zelensky, Russia is now clearly trying to paint Putin as a victim to delay peace talks. All while Trump focuses on business deals using the conflict as cover. The bottom line is that we should never, ever, trust a word Putin or Trump says.

PROTEST NEAR TRUMP’S FLORIDA BUNKER

Speaking of Zelensky, during his visit to the US on Sunday, supporters of Ukraine gathered to rally for peace on the bridge leading to Mar-a-Lago.

Viktoriia Volynets, a local real estate agent who was born in Ukraine and attended the protest, said this about a potential peace deal: “I want to believe. Many times … our Ukrainian-American community gets together to show our support, and call our [members of Congress] to make it happen. We are ready to do [our] best for Ukraine, for peace in Ukraine.”

TRUMP FREAKS OUT MORE

GOP Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene will be leaving Congress in about a week—one of 26 House Republicans planning to exit in the next year or so. Good riddance to all of them.

I want to be clear: Greene is one of the worst Reps. of our lifetime. She invited people to DC for Jan 6 using the Big Lie, harassed a school shooting survivor in the halls of Congress, and spread dangerous conspiracy theories. What she’s done is unforgivable.

But Greene seems determined to go out swinging. Yesterday, she slammed Mike Johnson saying he “is literally 100 percent under direct orders from the White House.”

Greene separately revealed that after an Epstein press conference earlier this year, where she vowed to name Epstein’s accomplices on the House floor, Trump called her in a fury. According to Greene, Trump told her: “My friends will get hurt.”

SWALWELL ON EPSTEIN

Dem Rep. Eric Swalwell has no pity for Trump’s “friends” in the Epstein files. He made it clear that uncovering the scandal is about standing “up for victims and to make sure that we know the names of the people who enabled Jeffrey Epstein.”

Swalwell says there has to be an immediate “public account” where members of the regime are forced to testify about the Epstein files. He also wants to ask them, “why are you keeping Donald Trump’s name … out of them?”

In a message to the Epstein survivors, Swalwell said Democrats have “your back,” adding: “We don’t care who is in these files. We’re not trying to protect anybody. We want full transparency.”

FROZEN RESISTANCE

In Amherst, New York, freezing weather didn’t stop people from protesting the Trump regime this weekend. Folks carried signs that read “Merry Resistmas,” “Epstein Memorial Ballroom,” and “No More ICE.” Krista, who attended, said they were there to “stand up for democracy and the rule of law.”

Thank you to everyone out there who is taking a stand against this regime, no matter how difficult. That’s the cold, hard grit this moment demands, and it’s the same kind of resolve that has sustained me in our fight against Trump for the last decade.
