A Priest, a Chef, and More Protests: We’re Done With Trump’s Lies

Amid a tragedy and all of Trump’s chaos, I’m glad to have more good news for you today. I appreciate you being here—let’s dive in.

THE WORST JOB FAIR EVER

ICE had a job fair in Arlington, TX, because apparently not enough people want to work for them. Across the street, protesters rallied against the regime and loudly chanted “Don’t Do It!” to discourage folks from applying.

In other protest news, the anti-Trump Labor Day demonstrations should have one of the largest turnouts this year. More to come on this.

SUSAN COLLINS HECKLED

In Maine this week, GOP Sen. Susan Collins was heckled and drowned out by protesters at a ribbon-cutting ceremony. People chanted “Shame!” When Collins asked folks to respect others there, the crowd replied: “We respect them. We don’t respect YOU!”

Collins claimed she spoke with some of the protesters after the event, and said their frustrations were simply due to “misinformation.” What a joke.

ANOTHER GOP REP. FACES FIERY TOWN HALLS

Collins isn’t the only one using that sort of line now—GOP Rep. Josh Brecheen also tried to play the blame game during several of his town halls.

Brecheen kept lying, claiming the big evil bill had no cuts to Medicare and Medicaid. A farmer held up research that he said showed the exact cuts. Brecheen responded by rudely dismissing the farmer, saying he didn’t have the facts. Seriously?

At another event, someone asked about Trump’s National Guard deployment in DC before walking out, telling Brecheen: “This is bulls**t … f**k you.” It’s great to see Republicans getting roasted in public.

CROCKETT TAKES ON TEXAS AG

Late yesterday, the Texas Supreme Court denied a demand from AG Ken Paxton, who is trying to stop Beto O’Rourke from fundraising for Texas Democrats.

Dem Rep. Jasmine Crockett torched Paxton, stating: “When the All Republican Supreme Court & all Republican Appointee 15th court of appeals refuse to side with the Republican AG for the state… you truly have to be next level bad at your job.”

Paxton tried to blame it on “activist judges,” but they were appointed by TX Gov. Greg Abbott. O’Rourke responded by asking if Paxton was “okay.” The answer is no—Paxton is the absolute worst.

A PRIEST WHO’S HAD ENOUGH

Father Michael Pfleger, a priest for more than 50 years, did not hold back on Trump during a press conference in Chicago this week.

Pfleger said: “Look into your mirror and address the violence coming from the White House … address the violence of cutting Medicare and Medicaid … address the violence of refusing to ban assault weapons.”

Then Pfleger had some sage advice for Trump and his regime of doom: “Take the wasted money in sending the National Guard, and … on threatening commercials by [Kristi Noem], and use it on real violence and prevention programs.”

CHEF CALLS OUT TRUMP

Chef José Andrés, an amazing DC-area chef and humanitarian, slammed Trump’s propaganda about restaurants in DC closing due to crime. Andrés said Trump is “confused,” since he only eats at the White House or his hotel.

“I've lived here for 33 years,” Andrés stated. “And it's a flat-out lie that half the restaurants have closed because of safety...but restaurants will close because you have troops with guns and federal agents harassing people.” That’s a fact.
