BIG ALASKA UPSET

In Fairbanks, Alaska’s race for mayor, Democrat Mindy O’Neall pulled off a shocking upset against the GOP incumbent. Garnering 54% of the vote, O’Neall said the victory proves her city “still believes in listening, planning, and bringing people together to solve problems.”

Her opponent, David Pruhs—who has been in office for nearly a decade—accepted his defeat right away. Pruhs said: “It’s over … I don’t get another three years, and that’s just the way it is.” This is how you concede, Republicans.

BILL NYE PUSHES BACK

Bill Nye (the Science Guy) joined hundreds of folks for a protest outside Congress, to push back against funding cuts to NASA. Dem Rep. Glenn Ivey told the crowd: “We’re falling behind ... The White House almost wants to zero out NASA science.”

Later in the day, Nye pointed out how “every dollar that goes into NASA Science comes back at least a factor of three times, so if you put $1 into NASA Science, you’re going to get $3 back into the economy.”

CHICAGO STANDS STRONG

Gov. JB Pritzker and Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson stood up to Trump after he said they should be in jail. Pritzker stated: “This guy is unhinged. He’s insecure. He’s a wannabe dictator … If you come for my people, you come through me. So come and get me.”

While Johnson responded with: “This is not the first time Trump has tried to have a Black man unjustly arrested. I’m not going anywhere.”

TRUMP’S ANTIFA FLOP

Trump held a roundtable meeting about “Antifa” yesterday, which fell completely flat. It ended up being a limp gathering of the Trump regime and maga influencers who were posing as “journalists.” None of the propaganda spread there is worth repeating.

No matter what this regime claims, the fact remains that right-wing extremists are responsible for more political violence than the left.

PORTLAND POWER

In another big win, a federal appeals court upheld an order to block any National Guard troops from deploying to Portland—for now.

Meanwhile, professional cosplayer Kristi Noem visited the city this week, acting as if she was surveying destruction from a major storm. There wasn’t much to see, and not many people were out—but there was a guy in a chicken suit. Noem seemed disappointed at how peaceful it was. Good.

AMATEUR HOUR

Attorney General Pam Bondi accidentally revealed part of her script, as she played the role of Twitter troll in the Senate on Tuesday.

Bondi literally brought opposition research, which included a bulleted list of barbs to use against Democrats. She even had responses written down on how to deflect from certain questions. This is sloppy amateur hour nonsense.

GALLEGO SOUNDS OFF

Arizona Senators Ruben Gallego and Mark Kelly held a press gaggle outside of Speaker Mike Johnson’s office yesterday. They called on Republicans to negotiate to reopen the government, and immediately swear in Rep.-Elect Adelita Grijalva.

Johnson eventually came out of his office to speak with them—but that was a big mistake. As Johnson was blabbing on, Kelly sternly pleaded for Republicans to meet with Democrats.

Gallego wasn’t as diplomatic, yawning and rolling his eyes at Johnson’s garbage. Gallego interrupted, saying: “Get your people in, and stop covering up for the pedophiles.”
