Great News That’s Bad For Trump and His Cult
Bondi's threat backfires, Obama and Bush call out Trump, and more
As Trump tries to hurt countless Americans with his big evil bill, I’m glad to have another edition of Great News for you today. I hope it gives you some relief—even if just for a moment.
I’ll be blunt—we can’t do all this work without your help. So if you haven’t yet, I hope you’ll become a paid subscriber today. It’s what funds our journalism and advocacy.
While Republicans were busy helping Trump steal Medicaid from millions of Americans, he visited Florida’s newest abomination—an ICE detention center known as “Alligator Alcatraz.” A lawsuit has already been filed to shut it down.
CA Gov. Gavin Newsom slammed the trip, stating Trump “would rather talk about alligators than his major, signature ‘big beautiful bill’ for a reason.” So true. Not to mention the fact Trump should be the first one locked up in this awful facility.
During the regime’s PR stunt, failing DHS Sec. Kristi Noem said they’re trying to prosecute CNN for publishing a story about an app called ICEBlock. The app allows users to anonymously submit alerts about nearby immigration agents.
Pam Bondi had earlier threatened ICEBlock’s creator, which led to it being one of the most downloaded free apps in the Apple Store. Good job.
Federal judges made a lot of big moves yesterday. They blocked the Trump regime from deporting Haitian migrants, stopped DOGE from taking over a US aid agency focused on Africa, ordered $13 million in grants be paid to Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty, and halted mass firings at the US Dept. of Health and Human Services.
Former Presidents Barack Obama and George W. Bush called out Trump for dismantling USAID. Obama called the move “a colossal mistake … Gutting USAID is a travesty, and it’s a tragedy.”
And Bush criticized Trump for cutting the HIV/AIDS program he helped bring to life, saying: “Is it in our national interests that 25 million people who would have died now live? I think it is, and so do you.”
Trump’s big evil bill is back in the House today, and we are full steam ahead working against it. So are many of our allies—like FairShare America—who held a march to GOP Rep. Derrick Van Orden’s La Crosse, WI office, demanding he vote no.
Dem Rep. Jim McGovern called the evil bill a “dumpster fire.” While Dem Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez slammed JD Vance, saying he “was the deciding vote to cut Medicaid across the country. An absolute and utter betrayal of working families.”
Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries will have something called the “magic minute,” which allows leadership to talk as long as they want. Jeffries should go on until he can’t anymore. Democrats must use every tactic they can to stop this bill.
On top of reporting the truth, it’s our responsibility to fight back against Trump’s tyranny every single day. And right now, we need all hands on deck. We’re 100% reader funded—no billionaires, no ads, and no nonsense.
