FINALLY the Democratic gloves are coming off. These are the things that have needed to be said, clearly. Instead of being afraid of how people will react, she is saying what everyone has needed to hear for years.
People have been longing for someone who was willing to take it directly to Trump, without any fear, and who can't be intimidated. They've found her in Kamala Harris.
TY for sharing. Never heard this before but I LOVE this. Durng the COVID pandemic and trump's blatant failed response to reacting quickly, I watched as the female leaders of Germany, Angela Merkel, New Zealand's Jacinda Ardern, Denmark’s Mette Frederiksen, Taiwan’s Tsai Ing-wen and Finland’s Sanna Marin lock down their countries and borders long before most male leaders did. As a result, those countries suffered half as many deaths on average compared to countries led by men. And even though I realize how much easier closing those borders were than the US, they still acted quickly and decisively to save lives. Think of the lives that could have been saved if we had a woman in charge! It's time.!
Thank you! I added these both to the playlist I made for Spotty, my 5-year-old cat, rescued off the street in Guatemala in 2019. She was taken suddenly, and far too soon, by terminal lymphoma on April 30.
Exactly. He cleverly (unless it was the Hand of God) waited until Trump had cemented his gratuitous choice of Vance, who brings nothing to the race but youth (my oldest grandchild is only 8 years younger) and a perverted attachment to Project 2025. Then he handed a sizable war chest over to Harris; one that was already swelling with donations from his supporters who were anxious that he was losing big donors. No one else could use it. The new candidate doesn’t have to start over, and many of us gave again, just for the joy of being able to see that we had donated to Kamala Harris for President. Well done, Joe!
I was against Biden being driven out by the media and "unidentified sources", but he has chosen the best possible path, and Harris has brilliantly picked up the ball and is handling it perfectly.
I had just watched the finale of a spectacular Tour de France, and opened twitter. The first thing I read was 'biden drops out'. I thought it was bogus. Kept reading. Wasn't bogus.. Then WTF.
Now, watching the last few days (mostly twitter) I am in full throated support. And right now twitter is the most fun it's been in years. Eat that, muskie.
I got lucky enough to tune into that live just by chance …it was so wonderful! I had to re-run it to listen more than once!! and I loved… Joe’s big voice in the background”love you kid”!!
In her first speech Kamala hit on what is the biggest problem in this country: Income Inequality. It’s higher than it’s ever been and explains why some have 3 or 4 homes and the homeless numbers rise. A weird form of the Christianity these ChristoNationalists profess.
United we are with her. I think she knows what to expect from lowercased don and his followers. I hope MSM supports her better than they did President Biden.
Lots of things jumped out at me from yesterday's speech. First, is the genuine affection and respect between the President and the VP. You can't fake that stuff. Second, this is NOT the same Kamala we saw in the 2020 primaries. She's done what Trump failed to do: grown into the office she holds. She's more sure-footed, self-confident and knows exactly why she's in this race. Third, and best IMO, is that she's a warrior, but happy one.
I think a lot of people are tired of the meanness, the racism, the threats of violence, the talk of 'civil war' and 'second revolutions.' They're looking for someone who's optimistic about our county and doesn't talk it down. They're also looking for someone who isn't afraid of Trump, nor intimidated by him, and that's Kamala. As she said yesterday, 'I know Trump's type.'
I wanted Biden to beat the media misinformation. That will be another fight. I love the positive news spin on this choice. I love Kamala. Thanks Scott.
I was absolutely against Biden quitting the race and felt that Harris would be a bad replacement. I’ve never been so happy to have been SO wrong!! Biden showed great courage and Harris is exactly what we need to get out the vote. Bravo Joe!
Same here on all counts. I still have concerns about the semi-submerged sexism and racism in the left of center, but now I believe Harris can blow them out of the water -- particularly because *women* (and those who love us <g>) are the key to this election.
I had been taking the heinous MSM pummeling against President Biden so personally. I wish him and his family every happiness and am glad for his relief from that totally unwarranted public punishment. Well, it’s behind us now. I feel that I have a new lease on life.
I too hated that the Dem leadership lost their respect for our President. Did they really have no faith in Joe? He will always put our country first. In his time in office he has done more for this country than his predecessors all put together.
If only Obama had not picked Hillary over Joe when he left office, we would be in a completely different place now than we are.
Here is the full speech: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7roZWiPbDpk
I’m behind Kamala all the way.
She is my first choice for the position.
I really hope the country is ready for its first woman President.
Let’s all row in the same direction, working to defeat Trump and Project 2025 at the ballot box.
I'm going to back to work: raising the public's awareness of the contents of Project 2025.
I want to put forward a positive message of unity. We need every vote we can get.
We have history to make.
Yes! We’re not going back.
I didn't think this was possible, but I feel hopefull and positive for the first time in a LOOONG while. I love her radiant smile.
Good to hear Jessica!
So fun to feel hope again!
Isn't it! As if some weight was lifted!
I feel the same way. I didn’t think I would be this hopeful with Kamala at the helm, but she is coming out hot, and I dig it
Yes, she breings all this fresh energy.
I know what you mean. 🙏☺️
FINALLY the Democratic gloves are coming off. These are the things that have needed to be said, clearly. Instead of being afraid of how people will react, she is saying what everyone has needed to hear for years.
She’s also saying what everyone has been thinking since 2015.
👏👏👏
People have been longing for someone who was willing to take it directly to Trump, without any fear, and who can't be intimidated. They've found her in Kamala Harris.
Ooooh and how we’ve longed for a woman who can shut 45 the f up!
Somebody online suggested this as the Harris campaign theme song:

Amen, Sister.
I love it and Keb-mo is fabulous
Keb Mo is one of the greatest overlooked artists of our time. Love him!
HA! Perfect!!
Can someone please send it to the campaign? It’s fantastic. Now I need to add some of his music to my playlists. Thank you for introducing him to me.
I can’t restack your comment, but I’m going to restack Scott’s post and credit you, Jane.
Thanks, Paula! I hope the campaign gets this. Here's another of my favorite Keb Mo songs:

I was vehemently against Biden dropping out. I was wrong.
Onward, united!
One Team. One Fight.
We hope so but our leaders are taking advantage of it to get their ME agenda.
Me, too. What Joe said when he called in during the speech made my heart soar as I teared up. She has been so beautifully prepared.
And the seriousness of the moment when Harris said my intention is to win, that gave me positive goosebumps, Harris absolutely meant it

Well said - Peggy ❤️
Me too.

Keep up the attack every single day Madam President.
Every day. Never let up. Never.
I got lucky enough to tune into that live just by chance …it was so wonderful! I had to re-run it to listen more than once!! and I loved… Joe’s big voice in the background”love you kid”!!
Amazing
🥲🥲🥲💙❤️
Me, too!

Hopefully, some of the poorer people in 45’s fan base will see that she will actually deliver, unlike whatsit.
Not Christians. Not patriots. Not Americans.
No wonder he doesn’t want to debate her. She’ll tear him apart! 😆
Without a doubt
In the first 5 minutes!!!
United we are with her. I think she knows what to expect from lowercased don and his followers. I hope MSM supports her better than they did President Biden.
It is looking good now but they are already starting with "but is the honeymoon over?" "can a woman win" nonsense
I think she is strong enough to push back all their words. I can hear her saying: sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me!
That's what I was waiting for also, but if a educated black lawyer can get elected twice I believe we have a win❣️
Time will tell if MSM can get their head out of tfg’s ass and give VP Harris the support they refused to give President Biden!
We will have to push back with her and call them out on it.
Wonder why that is? Media has done a job on America regarding Harris. It will all come out too late.

BOOM!
BOOM!
Yes! Keep the hits coming!
Boom

May all the powers be with her!
Boom
I had been taking the heinous MSM pummeling against President Biden so personally. I wish him and his family every happiness and am glad for his relief from that totally unwarranted public punishment. Well, it’s behind us now. I feel that I have a new lease on life.
Keeping up the work to win!
Let's go
Me too. I never wanted to knock him down. I wanted to give him space to do his important work. And he has! This has unfolded in such an amazing way!
