I’m behind Kamala all the way.

She is my first choice for the position.

I really hope the country is ready for its first woman President.

Let’s all row in the same direction, working to defeat Trump and Project 2025 at the ballot box.

I'm going to back to work: raising the public's awareness of the contents of Project 2025.

I want to put forward a positive message of unity. We need every vote we can get.

We have history to make.

FINALLY the Democratic gloves are coming off. These are the things that have needed to be said, clearly. Instead of being afraid of how people will react, she is saying what everyone has needed to hear for years.

She’s also saying what everyone has been thinking since 2015.

People have been longing for someone who was willing to take it directly to Trump, without any fear, and who can't be intimidated. They've found her in Kamala Harris.

Ooooh and how we’ve longed for a woman who can shut 45 the f up!

TY for sharing. Never heard this before but I LOVE this. Durng the COVID pandemic and trump's blatant failed response to reacting quickly, I watched as the female leaders of Germany, Angela Merkel, New Zealand's Jacinda Ardern, Denmark’s Mette Frederiksen, Taiwan’s Tsai Ing-wen and Finland’s Sanna Marin lock down their countries and borders long before most male leaders did. As a result, those countries suffered half as many deaths on average compared to countries led by men. And even though I realize how much easier closing those borders were than the US, they still acted quickly and decisively to save lives. Think of the lives that could have been saved if we had a woman in charge! It's time.!

Thank you! I added these both to the playlist I made for Spotty, my 5-year-old cat, rescued off the street in Guatemala in 2019. She was taken suddenly, and far too soon, by terminal lymphoma on April 30.

And the seriousness of the moment when Harris said my intention is to win, that gave me positive goosebumps, Harris absolutely meant it

Expand full comment

Exactly. He cleverly (unless it was the Hand of God) waited until Trump had cemented his gratuitous choice of Vance, who brings nothing to the race but youth (my oldest grandchild is only 8 years younger) and a perverted attachment to Project 2025. Then he handed a sizable war chest over to Harris; one that was already swelling with donations from his supporters who were anxious that he was losing big donors. No one else could use it. The new candidate doesn’t have to start over, and many of us gave again, just for the joy of being able to see that we had donated to Kamala Harris for President. Well done, Joe!

same.

I had just watched the finale of a spectacular Tour de France, and opened twitter. The first thing I read was 'biden drops out'. I thought it was bogus. Kept reading. Wasn't bogus.. Then WTF.

Now, watching the last few days (mostly twitter) I am in full throated support. And right now twitter is the most fun it's been in years. Eat that, muskie.

In her first speech Kamala hit on what is the biggest problem in this country: Income Inequality. It’s higher than it’s ever been and explains why some have 3 or 4 homes and the homeless numbers rise. A weird form of the Christianity these ChristoNationalists profess.

Hopefully, some of the poorer people in 45’s fan base will see that she will actually deliver, unlike whatsit.

Lots of things jumped out at me from yesterday's speech. First, is the genuine affection and respect between the President and the VP. You can't fake that stuff. Second, this is NOT the same Kamala we saw in the 2020 primaries. She's done what Trump failed to do: grown into the office she holds. She's more sure-footed, self-confident and knows exactly why she's in this race. Third, and best IMO, is that she's a warrior, but happy one.

I think a lot of people are tired of the meanness, the racism, the threats of violence, the talk of 'civil war' and 'second revolutions.' They're looking for someone who's optimistic about our county and doesn't talk it down. They're also looking for someone who isn't afraid of Trump, nor intimidated by him, and that's Kamala. As she said yesterday, 'I know Trump's type.'

Let's win this thing.

Same here on all counts. I still have concerns about the semi-submerged sexism and racism in the left of center, but now I believe Harris can blow them out of the water -- particularly because *women* (and those who love us <g>) are the key to this election.

I too hated that the Dem leadership lost their respect for our President. Did they really have no faith in Joe? He will always put our country first. In his time in office he has done more for this country than his predecessors all put together.

If only Obama had not picked Hillary over Joe when he left office, we would be in a completely different place now than we are.
