Times like this breed both cowards and heroes. Nick La Strada is another hero. Thank you, sir!!! It is a disgrace that you were blocked from the hearing and fired, and bravo for going ahead regardless!
Nick La Strada definitely demonstrated courage to stand up for election integrity, even when it costed them their job. His actions highlight the very real stakes in Missouri and across the country.
As a physician when someone shows up to the emergency room there should be no reason to check immigration status and this is federal law. The patient has an emergency. Full stop.
That is exactly right, Mike. Medical emergencies require immediate care, regardless of a person's status. It's a matter of basic human decency and federal law.
What gives me hope isn't any single headline. It's the fact that so many people are still paying attention, still speaking up, and still believing we can build something better. Thank you to everyone who makes this community what it is. Let's keep pushing forward together.
Hope grows when people come together around a shared goal. I'm grateful for everyone here who chooses action over despair and community over division. The work continues, and I'm excited to see what we can accomplish together in the weeks ahead.
That is a beautiful perspective, Ms. Jonington. Choosing action over despair is exactly how we build that hope. I am looking forward to seeing what we can accomplish, too!
I was a single mom who needed a job, but when my boss asked me to do something that was morally wrong and quite possibly illegal I packed up my desk and walked out. That job never appeared on my resume
Trumphausted!!!! Corruption on steroids!!!! Enough!!!! Leave the John F. Kennedy Center ALONE!!! It belongs to WE THE PEOPLE!!!!!! And all the other issues addressed in this substack!!!!
Another week of incredible wins as DonOld starts to show more signs of his descent in to dementia. Always remember there are more of us than them, and with less than a month and a half till midterms, momentum continues! All these distractions won't stop the demand for the Trumpstein files! Have a good, productive weekend!
Thank you for writing about Nick La Strada. I knew Hoskins' deal & am pleased to know there are good, principled people like La Strada. I'd not know the upside of this rather disconcerting situation wo Dworkin Report's focus on those who act on behalf of the greater good. Thank you, Nick La Strada. Thank you, Scott Dworkin & team. Onward!
Good news I wouldn't have learned about anywhere else. Shocking, how low Republican lawmakers are willing to go: faking records to gain votes, checking immigration status for people who need the E.R. Mr. La Strada is a hero!
Katie Hobbs, Kris Mayes (AG), And Adrian Fontes (Sec of State) are the three Dems in AZ fighting for the people. All three should be re-elected to continue the fight.
NOTE to AZ voters: Last day to REGISTER TO VOTE is October 5. Check your registration NOW and make sure the address on your ID is the same as that on your registration. It's not hard to do--go to your county gov webpage and click on voter registration.
La Stada did what we are all taught to do in families, in elementary schools, in religious studies or places of worship, in our society: be honest and be not afraid to speak out against what is wrong. By six years of age we ALL have been taught or exposed to what is right and what isn’t.
In my workplaces and in my career, I spoke up about inequality and injustices even with the result of only a few creepy underhanded tactics that I also exposed as soon as the weird things happened. The surprised look of their “exposure”was my biggest secret satisfaction.
I never had to fight against the insurance company industry but did have to go to small claims court against a construction company for public safety reasons. It was so blatant an act of neglect that we were successful. That made me feel that there is justice for the “little people.” I’ve never been afraid to speak up for myself and others when there’s something wrong.
🚨 Do not let the regime hide over the weekend. 5,700+ fighting Hegseth, 13,700+ defending Yosemite, and the push to ban rogue AI. Hit all three:

Good for you!!!
That takes courage and a working moral compass! Both lacking in the MAGA Republican Party these days. Good for you!!!

Hats off to Nick La Stada. That’s the kind of sacrifice it’s going to take to beat this regime. 💙

When I was admitted to the hospital in 2025, I was asked if I was a citizen. I am, but refused to answer. I'm probably on some list somewhere now.
