Here’s More Bad News For Trump That’s Great For Us

We made it to the end of the week—happy Friday, all! Thanks for taking the time to read my new edition of Great News. Let’s jump in.

It’s Teacher Appreciation Week, and I want to give a big thanks to our teachers for being absolute heroes. Dem Rep. Jasmine Crockett said the Trump regime “is doing all it can to demolish the Department of Education … Public school teachers deserve our support, not our attacks.” Absolutely, without a doubt.

The first American ever has been elected Pope—Robert Francis Prevost, now Pope Leo XIV. The Pope has been a frequent critic of the Trump regime, recently reposting an article that said: “JD Vance is wrong: Jesus doesn’t ask us to rank our love for others.” I hope the Pope speaks loudly against Trump and Vance—the world desperately needs it.

Speaking of JD Vance, his half-brother Cory Bowman just got trounced in the Cincinnati, Ohio three-way primary contest for mayor. Even after Vance endorsed him, Bowman got a pathetic 13%. He still moves on to the general election, where he’ll likely lose big to incumbent Mayor Aftab Pureval, who got 83% of the vote.

In Lincoln, Nebraska, voters elected 3 Democrats in nonpartisan school board races, with Dems also decisively winning the Board of Education contests. Meanwhile, in Texas, the 11 candidates endorsed by the Tarrant County Republican Party—and other conservatives across the state—lost hard in a series of crushing upsets. Good.

NY AG Letitia James shared some powerful words at a town hall yesterday. When asked how “we can survive” Trump’s tyranny, James said this to thunderous applause:

“We’re all in this together ... We’re ready, we’re prepared. Do not give into fear ... This is not the time to be afraid, this is the time to stand up and fight back ... We will not give in, not give up. We will not capitulate. We will not bow. We will not bend. We. Will. Survive.”

Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem testified before the Senate yesterday, where Dem Sen. Chris Murphy made it clear: “Secretary Noem, your department is out of control. You are spending money you don't have. You are violating spending laws daily. You are making up your own immigration law. You are disappearing people just because they oppose your president.” I love how he says “your.”

The most unqualified FBI Director ever, Kash Patel, reminded the world that he is completely unfit for the role while testifying in front of Congress on Thursday.

Dem Sen. Patty Murray wasn’t having it. While asking about the FBI’s missing budget request, Murray said: “It was due last week. By law.” Patel gave this snarky response: “I understand.” To which Murray said: “You're not gonna follow the law ... and you have no timeline?” Patel said “no,” like an angry toddler.

And at Wednesday’s House hearing about the FBI’s missing budget request, Dem Rep. Madeleine Dean sounded off on Patel: “Your eagerness and childlike giddiness to carry out the president’s revenge tour, you have shown yourself to be unserious … you have shown yourself unfit to lead this important agency.” Without a doubt.
