Hope Rises As Massive Crowds Protest Trump’s Abuse Of Power, AOC Calls For Pam Bondi’s Impeachment, and Arrested Journalists Remain Defiant Against The Regime
Onward!
While corporate media bows to Trump, we’ve spent a decade building something different. We believe that we shouldn’t just report on the chaos—we must help lead the fight against it. This year alone we’ve already flooded Congress with 600,000 calls and letters, and we’re aiming for another million before November.
Our social media campaigns generate billions of impressions monthly—just this week we trended two major anti-ICE funding hashtags. Upgrade today to help power our resistance:
Thanks so much for being here. Let’s jump in.
“ICE OUT OF EVERYWHERE” DAY OF ACTION
Yesterday’s “ICE Out Of Everywhere” day of action saw organizers urging people to skip work or school and hold off on any purchases in protest of Trump’s rampant abuse of power. Large events were held in cities across the country, with more planned this weekend.
On their website, the main organizing group wrote: “Every day, ICE, Border Patrol and other enforcers of Trump’s racist agenda are going into our communities to kidnap our neighbors and sow fear. It is time for us to all stand up together in a nationwide shutdown and say enough is enough.”
TRUMP’S EPSTEIN COVER-UP CONTINUES
After stalling for more than a month past the legal deadline, the Trump regime released around 3 million pages from the Epstein files on Friday—estimated to be only half of what’s been collected by the DOJ.
Dem Rep. Ro Khanna, one of the authors of the Epstein Transparency Act, said: “Failing to release these files only shields the powerful individuals who were involved and hurts the public’s trust in our institutions.”
And Dem Rep. Robert Garcia made it clear: “The DOJ is saying they are not protecting Trump and that they are protecting survivors. Both are lies ... This is a cover-up.”
This isn’t the transparency the law requires. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: We will not stop pushing until there is justice for the survivors and victims in this enormous scandal.
AOC CALLS FOR BONDI’S IMPEACHMENT
Dem Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez declared that Attorney General Pam Bondi should be impeached, following the arrest of independent journalists who were covering a recent protest. “Between this, Epstein, and her attempted extortion of MN voter files,” AOC said, “Bondi should be up for impeachment.”
AOC has also thrown her support behind the effort to impeach DHS Secretary Kristi Noem, which now has 181 cosponsors.
TRUMP’S WAR ON THE FIRST AMENDMENT
Trump escalated his longtime assault on press freedom this week with the arrests of journalists Don Lemon and Georgia Fort. Both were covering an anti-ICE protest at a St. Paul, Minnesota, church—where a pastor is also a senior official within ICE.
Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries condemned the arrests, stating: “The Trump Justice Department is illegitimate and these extremists will all be held accountable for their crimes against the Constitution.”
While live-streaming the moments before being taken into custody, Fort said: “I don’t feel like I have my First Amendment right as a member of the press, because now federal agents are at my door arresting me for filming the church protest a few weeks ago.” The middle image above is of a federal agent at Fort’s door.
After his release, Lemon was defiant: “I have spent my entire career covering the news—I will not stop now … there is no more important time than right now, this very moment, for a free and independent media that shines a light on the truth and holds those in power accountable.”
The message from the Trump regime is clear—if you cover something they don’t like, you could be arrested too. But we will never back down.
The Dworkin Report is one of the largest independent newsrooms in America, and I know firsthand the risks of defying this regime. From the countless threats I received while investigating Trump’s Russian ties, to leading impeachment campaigns against him, to helping push him out of office in 2020.
We will continue to prove that independent journalism combined with mobilizing the resistance can beat Trump—but only if we stay in this fight together. Upgrade to a paid subscription today and help us keep the pressure on:
