Trump Rejected By Own Judges, South Carolina Voters Stopped The Steal, and Sen. Andy Kim Holds The Line Against ICE
The regime tried to silence four groups of Americans. They got louder instead
Every day people in this country are told the fight is over. That nothing they do matters. We’ve been told the Trump regime is too powerful to ever be stopped so often that some have started to believe it.
This edition of The Dworkin Report is proof they’re wrong. A senator who refused to back down. A judge who caught the regime’s prosecutors breaking the rules. Republican state senators who got Trump’s call and told him no anyway. And South Carolina voters who showed up on a Tuesday because they refused to wait.

ANDY KIM SHOWS US HOW IT’S DONE
Senator Andy Kim of New Jersey spent his Memorial Day at Delaney Hall—a private ICE prison in Newark where detainees had been on a hunger strike for four days. He listened to the people locked inside. He spoke with a pregnant woman who was denied prenatal care, and an 18-year-old separated from her mom who just wanted to graduate from high school this month.
Governor Mikie Sherrill was refused entry at the front door. She didn’t back down. She stood outside the gates, talked with families of detainees, and said her denial raised “serious questions about what they are trying to hide from public view.” She is right to ask. They have plenty to hide.
Kim walked outside and saw ICE rolling up in an armored vehicle. Armed agents lined up. Kim—a former diplomat—put himself between the agents and the crowd to keep anyone from getting hurt. ICE answered by pepper spraying him. Kim stayed calm and kept negotiating, pleading with them not to transfer the hunger strikers to Louisiana and Texas.
Kim didn’t mince words: “Delaney Hall is a failure; it’s this administration’s failure. The only way to make this right is to shut it down.”
The regime built Delaney Hall to be invisible. A senator and a governor made it the most visible jail in America this week. This is what showing up looks like.
REGIME PROSECUTORS GOT CAUGHT
When ICE invaded Chicago last fall, the regime hit six protesters who got in their way with federal conspiracy charges carrying up to six years in prison. Among them—former Democratic congressional candidate Kat Abughazaleh. The message from the regime was clear: get in our way and the DOJ will come for you.
It backfired spectacularly. As it turned out, the DOJ had broken the rules to get the charges filed, and even kicked citizens off the grand jury who disagreed. When Federal Judge April Perry read the grand jury transcripts, she issued a scathing rebuke—saying she had “never seen the types of prosecutorial behavior” she saw in this case.
Knowing they were beaten, the US Attorney walked into court and dropped every remaining charge. They can never refile them.
The regime tried to use federal charges to scare protesters off the streets. It failed.
TRUMP’S JUDGES SAY NO
A three-judge federal panel rejected Alabama’s new discriminatory congressional map this week. It drew district lines designed to wipe out the voting power of Black Americans in the state. The judges ruled it can’t be used.
They were clear: “We cannot see our way clear to requiring Alabamians to cast their votes in the 2026 elections under a districting plan tainted by intentional race-based discrimination.”
Here’s the kicker: two of the three judges on that panel were appointed by Trump. His own appointees looked at his party’s attempt to dilute Black voting power and refused.
The fair map Alabamians used to elect Rep. Shomari Figures to Congress in 2024 stays in place. Trump tried to take the seat. His own judges told him no.
SOUTH CAROLINA TAKES ON TRUMP
On Tuesday—the first day of early voting—more than 56,000 South Carolinians cast their ballots. It shattered the state record for the first day of a primary. To put that in perspective: in all of 2022, only around 125,000 voted across the entire two-week early voting period. South Carolina hit nearly half that total in a single day.
Democrats called on voters to turn out early and kill Trump’s attempt to redraw the only majority-Black district in the state—the seat Rep. Jim Clyburn has held for more than three decades.
They answered in a big way.
Trump called Senate Majority Leader Shane Massey twice and phoned into a private meeting of GOP state senators. He was pressuring them to cancel the ongoing primary and redraw the seat to hand it to Republicans.
The South Carolina GOP had every intention of helping Trump. The state House had already passed the rigged map the week before by a 74 to 37 vote. But the public pressure got too hot. On Tuesday afternoon, the Senate decided to adjourn until June 10—the day after the primary. Voters held the line, stopped the steal, and won.
There’s a generation in this country right now watching what we do. They see who picks up the phone. Who shows up. Who refuses to give Trump’s lies one more inch of ground. They’re learning from us—how to respond when the regime comes calling.
Most people will see this edition of The Dworkin Report for free, which is intentional. We want the truth to spread, not just sit behind a paywall. But our work needs more paid subscribers to keep our reporting and organizing going—and to keep it free for everyone else.
