20,000 fired up Harris supporters filled an arena in Arizona last night for the campaign’s biggest event to date.
Trump held a creepy, sparsely attended hate rally in Montana. It was pathetic. Donald lied A LOT, and attacked Biden as if he was still running. That's all I’ll say about it.
At the Harris rally, Mesa’s Republican Mayor John Giles got the crowd going when he said: “In the spirit of the great Senator John McCain, please join me in putting country over party and stopping Donald Trump.”
Senate candidate and retired Marine Ruben Gallego also spoke, followed by the amazing Gabby Giffords who gave these inspirational words: “Our lives can change so quickly. Mine did when I was shot. But I never gave up hope. I chose to make a new start, and look ahead to not look back. I am relearning several things, how to walk, how to talk, and I am fighting to make the country safer.” These words got me choked up. I had to pause the rally for a bit.
Senator Mark Kelly spoke next: “Trump calls those who served ‘suckers and losers’. And he has zero respect for any of us who have worn the uniform.” That’s a fact.
Then VP nominee Tim Walz took the stage, slamming Trump about one of his obsessions: “You know, it's not as if anybody cares about crowd sizes or anything.”
Walz also urged us to action by saying, “I know I am preaching to the choir. A damn big and beautiful choir. But practice is over, people, the choir needs to sing.”
And the excitement was electric when Kamala Harris took the stage. The arena was filled with an energy we haven’t seen since Obama in 2008.
In a very inspiring moment, Harris stopped her speech to masterfully address a protester that could be heard shouting. To thunderous applause, she said: “We’re here to fight for our democracy. Which includes respecting the voices that I think that we are hearing from…I have been clear—now is the time to get a cease-fire deal.”
But the VP’s most powerful line of the night made the crowd roar so loud that the entire building shook: "Someone who suggests we should terminate the Constitution of the United States, should never again stand behind the seal of the United States’ President. Never again. Never again."
Thanks to all of our Substack readers and online organizers, our #KamalaBringsUsJoy campaign trended for over 12 hours yesterday, until well after the Harris-Walz rally ended. The hashtag got over 1 billion impressions, which are the kind of numbers we usually only see in the last two weeks of an election. Amazing!
This week our campaigns trended at the top of social media networks garnering more than 1.7 billion impressions, forced Donald out of hiding, and even pressured mainstream media outlets into correcting their headlines.
We will continue to build on our massive campaigns to call out mainstream media, expose Trump’s lies, and elect Kamala Harris. But our work requires a lot of time and money. She literally rocked the house! So much joy.
Unlike the weird hate rally Donald held in Montana.
I cried so hard when Gabby Giffords spoke. She is such an inspiration.
