Kamala Harris Trashes Trump’s Project 2025

"We want to ban assault weapons, and they want to ban books"

VP Kamala Harris spoke at the American Federation of Teachers (AFT) Thursday morning, cementing her place as the pro-union candidate in the presidential race.

AFT was the first labor union to endorse Harris, with over 1.7 million members and over 3,000 local affiliates across the US. Currently Harris is endorsed by at least 20 national labor unions.

Trump, on the other hand, is an anti-union scab who is against raising the minimum wage, and has a long history of screwing over his employees.

The energy at the event was electric. It took Harris around a minute to quiet the crowd’s booming cheers. Throughout the speech there was constant applause and frequent chants of “Bring it On!”, and “Harris! Harris!”

It was another near-perfect delivery. And these lines below were too good not to share:

I was one of the first elected officials in the country to perform same-sex marriages…It pains me so to think that 20 years later there are still teachers who are afraid to put up a photograph of themselves and their partner for fear they could lose their job because of MAGA extremists.

This is a tragedy.

We see a future “where every worker has the freedom to join a union…where no teacher has to struggle with the burden of student loan debt.”

Let me remind everyone again that Trump is anti-union.

You may not be a union member, but thank unions for the five-day workweek. For the eight-hour workday. Thank unions for sick leave and paid family leave and vacation time.

And don’t let people ever forget it.

One of the best ways to keep our nation moving forward is to give workers a voice, to protect the freedom to organize, to defend the freedom to collectively bargain, to end union busting…The fact is, unions helped build America’s middle class. And when unions are strong, America is strong.

Trump disagrees with all of this.

Project 2025 is a plan to return America to a dark past. Donald Trump and his extreme allies want to take our nation back to failed trickle-down economic policies, back to union busting, back to tax breaks for billionaires…to cut Medicare and Social Security, to stop student loan forgiveness for teachers and other public servants. They even want to eliminate the Department of Education…We want to ban assault weapons, and they want to ban books.

We already are seeing mainstream media start to twist stories, with titles like Blue city cops say Kamala Harris 'helped' killers…warn of 'disaster' if she becomes president. The title was so horrible I had to delete part of it. I found 10 others like it in the last 24 hours. We are here to push back against that hateful and twisted narrative at a constant.
