Two Massive Wins In California, Bipartisan Delegation Rallies To Protect Greenland, and Rep. Pat Ryan Lays The Groundwork To Hold Members Of The Trump Regime Accountable
Plus, Trump plays Risk, flips the board (and eats the game pieces)
If Democrats win back Congress, Trump’s authoritarian rule comes to a screeching halt. His appointments stall, his legislation dies, and the rubber stamp disappears. It doesn’t happen by accident—it requires a massive effort to break through the noise.
That’s why we launched our Midterm Accountability Project. We don’t just report what’s happening—we’re doing the work to change it. We’re dominating the digital narrative while putting nonstop pressure on Congress, but we need your help to keep it going. Thanks so much for being here. Let’s jump in.
HUGE CALIFORNIA WINS
The state of California had two big wins against the Trump regime in back-to-back rulings this week. An appeals court approved the state’s revised congressional map that was voted on late last year. Gov. Gavin Newsom gave a simple response: “Republicans’ weak attempt to silence voters failed.”
Separately, a federal judge ruled that the Trump regime’s attempt to get California’s voter data is “unprecedented and illegal.” The judge found that the entire point of the effort was voter intimidation and suppression, and dismissed the DOJ’s bogus lawsuit on the matter.
More than 20 states are suing over this sort of effort to disenfranchise voters, with the state of Oregon winning a tentative ruling this week to block sensitive voter info from being transferred to the regime. More to come.
MLK CELEBRATION MOVED
After calling the Kennedy Center home for decades, organizers of the “Let Freedom Ring” concert honoring Martin Luther King Jr. have moved to a new venue.
Marc Bamuthi Joseph, a former vice president and artistic director at the Center who regularly speaks at the event, said he’d prefer to be “spared the hypocrisy” of celebrating MLK at the Trump-controlled center. He added that MLK was a champion of equity, while the regime is “anti-equity.”
TRUMP’S PARTICIPATION TROPHY
Trump has always been jealous of Barack Obama, especially after the former president won the Nobel Peace Prize. So when prize-winner María Corina Machado met with Trump to ask for support in her effort to lead Venezuela, she knew exactly what to offer him—the prize itself.
In exchange for the prestigious award, Trump handed her a bag of maga collectibles but no commitment to support her. The transaction exposed how pathetic and broken Trump truly is.
BIPARTISAN DELEGATION IN DENMARK
Dem Sen. Chris Coons is in Denmark leading a bipartisan delegation to show support for Greenland, and push back against Trump’s threats. Republican Senators Thom Tillis and Lisa Murkowski also joined in the meetings.
Coons stated: “It’s hard to discern what the heck [Trump’s] talking about. He just wants to change the color on the map and make it part of the United States, like this is the game of Risk or something … our NATO allies are now making it really clear that any effort to take Greenland by force would destroy the NATO alliance.”
Let’s be real—if Trump played the game Risk, about five minutes in he would be flipping over the game board and eating the pieces.
ACCOUNTABILITY FOR THE REGIME
Right outside the Capitol, Dem Rep. Pat Ryan was asked if Trump’s biggest accomplices could face any legal liability. Ryan answered: “There’s going to be legal and I think criminal liability for multiple members of this administration, certainly including Stephen Miller.”
Ryan stated that the Trump regime continues to “violate the law, violate the Constitution, violate our moral standing and values as Americans.” He added: “We are already readying investigations across a whole bunch of committees … to be ready on day one when we retake the majority.”
Let me be clear—our goal is true accountability. But the “day one” Rep. Ryan mentioned only happens if we win. That’s why we launched the Midterm Accountability Project—to ensure Democrats retake the majority and that justice is finally served.
We have no corporate safety net or billionaire bosses, which means we rely entirely on our community here to fuel our fight. We are ready to continue to do the heavy lifting to end this nightmare, but we need your help. So if you haven’t yet, please upgrade to a paid subscription today:
