I have passed the age of physical prowess I enjoyed in years of civil rights marches and protests against the war in Viet Nam. I can no longer walk or balance my body, particularly in a crowd. I will support younger participants online and in commentary and letter writing today. March on and make our voices heard.
I actually stayed until the end. We went as far as Madison Square Park. The end of the march was a couple of hundred uniformed police and several official-looking cars, sort of like the end of a road race. We all had a good time, if a bit damp.
I'm glad you can use a cane. I actually wear biking gloves when I'm using my trekking poles because of the padding on the palm of my hand seems to help greatly. I also wear the gloves during my Pilates classes.
Well whatever keeps you active is what's best for you Sandra. I actually do planks on my knuckles I can't do them flat palmed. At our age it's all about modification right?
I'm just bringing a chair, a sign and a flag on an old fishing pole! I can sit in protest and be part of my people! Oh, and a sandwich and water. Good fun!! Best of luck everyone!
Sally, I am 80 and have been to 4 proteats so far this year. I use a cane and usually take a chair. I can still chant pretty loudly and hold my sign up. So far, every protest has been peaceful and well supported by those driving past us. Unless things get "sketchy", I plan to continue showing up because I do not want to die in a dictatorship. Today's protest was the largest and there were people of all ages including many senior citizens....we grew up protesting for civil rights and against the war in Vietnam (not the soldiers, but the war - there was a difference to me). Also noteworthy was the number of elementary age children attending with their parents. I told some of them how proud I was of them for attending, making their own signs, etc.
Diane: this was also my 4th protest this year. Beautiful day in Carson City, Nevada. We had a big, mostly calm, peaceful crowd of people. I also loved seeing the young people and families protesting together. We saw many great signs and had good conversations. It brings tears to my eyes every time I see We the People coming together like I did today.
I wish I could be on the front lines of today’s civil protest but unfortunately I’m not able to attend in person. I will however be supporting the peaceful protesters online.
You’ve done an exceptional job with this project in particular. And the rest of your projects are outstanding.
I am attending my church’s Family Camp in Lake Tahoe. We all will be participating in South Lake Tahoe’s No-Kings protest from 2 to 4 PM! I will post photographs of our peaceful gathering.
Our signs are made! My spouse has excellent sign saying his father landed on Utah Beach to prevent what is happening now in America. This administration is disgusting and uneducated!
We must take extra precautions when we go on the street, Pamela. Considering my aged legs, I will be supporting protesters online today, as well as to distribute restacks from Scott and other publishers, and key articles from truth-telling platforms to a group of readers.
This heinous act in MN is intolerable and is more evidence of the decay which is occurring in our troubled society. A big step toward stability will be to rid ourselves of drump and his putrid regime.
The woman senator and her husband are dead. The male and his wife are in surgery but are expected to make it. One man dressed as a cop with a cop car is being hunted by police.
Even in this cadre of terrible people, foppish lying sycophant Johnson, who professes to be so pious, is particularly despicable. Does he really think he is paving his way to heaven?

I'm also getting a little shaky on my pins, but planning an hour or two with our people in Bryant Park.
I use trekking poles for stabilization, Sandra, give them a try sometime. They have made me much more confident.
I actually stayed until the end. We went as far as Madison Square Park. The end of the march was a couple of hundred uniformed police and several official-looking cars, sort of like the end of a road race. We all had a good time, if a bit damp.
Good for you Sandra that must have felt really wonderful to get it accomplished and know you could do it.
I surprised myself! Especially after a morning choir rehearsal.
My problem with trekking poles is that my hands and wrists don't tolerate the pressure. One little cane works better.
I'm glad you can use a cane. I actually wear biking gloves when I'm using my trekking poles because of the padding on the palm of my hand seems to help greatly. I also wear the gloves during my Pilates classes.
I have "exercise gloves) that I wear in TRX classes, which are really hard on my hands. Pilates is mostly hard on my wrists, especially the plank.
Well whatever keeps you active is what's best for you Sandra. I actually do planks on my knuckles I can't do them flat palmed. At our age it's all about modification right?
I hobbled out on my bad knees, cane in hand and cheered on the more active participants at a big, exuberant No Kings Rally in ruby red Tallahassee!
Thank you Stephen!

Thank you Sally! This is extremely helpful and very important.
Thanks Sally for your past efforts and the moral support for today!
Same here

Diane, I’ll be with you in spirit. You go, girl!💜

Take care and be well!!
Harold Katlin
Thank you for doing that Harold!
Today is going to be special one in the history books.
…if we’re still allowed to have history books!
It’s on us to make sure we do Sally!
I believe so!
We’re about to head out the door with our signs and water bottles!
Awesome!!
POWER TO THE PEOPLE!
Yes Cathy!
Heading over to Georgia Capital for No Kings rally
Looks like huge crowd there already Anne!
I am attending my church’s Family Camp in Lake Tahoe. We all will be participating in South Lake Tahoe’s No-Kings protest from 2 to 4 PM! I will post photographs of our peaceful gathering.
Awesome! Thank you Betsy!
Our signs are made! My spouse has excellent sign saying his father landed on Utah Beach to prevent what is happening now in America. This administration is disgusting and uneducated!
Let’s go Tess!
I will be cheering for the protesters & watching on Substack while my sign in my front window says “1776 No Kings in America”!
Awesome!
I am surrounded by young Navy guys so I hope they get it.
We have to be careful with a Democrat senator shot in Minnesota and wife and a speaker of the house.
Be safe. My thoughts are with those in MN this morning and all others peacefully protesting
Everyone should surely remain vigilant yet peaceful everywhere. For sure.
Very sad to hear this Pamela. The shooters probably think they are doing dump's bidding like so many misguided souls.
We must take extra precautions when we go on the street, Pamela. Considering my aged legs, I will be supporting protesters online today, as well as to distribute restacks from Scott and other publishers, and key articles from truth-telling platforms to a group of readers.

Always thanks, Scott, for promoting the courageous leaders like Mayor Wu, Sen. Padilla,
and the former Pentagon advisers who called out horrible Hegseth. Kudos to NY magazine for speaking truth to power.
Must have missed that on any news. Are they all ok?

I don’t know what he thinks but he’s one of Trump’s biggest accomplices.
I actually think he may find himself right beside dump for eternity and that could only be HELL.
Stephen Miller will be right beside dump, of course.
Just being with each other is all they need to get their jollies🤮🤢
Won’t he be shocked at how hot it is👿
He is evil. He isn’t fooling anyone!
Only himself
He is a bit creepy as well… an animated mannequin?
Yes🙋♀️ we’re protesting today!
Great to hear Suzanne!
May all who protest the excesses of our corrupt government today, stay safe, and stay free.
Yes!
Ellie 🩵💙 Thank you…that’s the plan!
Both. I’m in Florida going to Tampa Town Hall @ 3pm.
Awesome thank you Allison!
