More Terrible News For Trump
Bernie in Texas, Mahmoud Khalil freed, JD Vance flops in California, and more
Trump’s swamp of lies and propaganda is flooding everywhere, especially in corporate media. Which is why every single day I rip through Trump’s garbage to bring you the truth. Thanks for being here. Let’s get to it!
Sen. Bernie Sanders brought his Fighting Oligarchy tour to McAllen, TX last night, to speak in front of a packed and fired up crowd. Joining him was Texas Dem Rep. and Chairman of the Congressional Progressive Caucus, Greg Casar.
Casar didn’t hold back, as he absolutely eviscerated Republicans: “They eat food cooked by immigrants, they get their fancy cars cleaned by immigrants, they do their corrupt deals in buildings engineered, built, and maintained by immigrants—then they have the gall to turn around and say immigrants are the problem. Guess what? An asylum seeker didn’t raise your rent—a hedge fund did.”
Sanders declared: “Despair is not an option. That is what they want us to do … our job is to stand together right now … it’s to take on the greed of the billionaire class … it’s to create a country of compassion—and dare I say, of love.”
In the courts, a federal judge finally ordered the release of Columbia University graduate and activist Mahmoud Khalil—who had been unjustly detained by the Trump regime since March. When he was freed, Khalil stated: “Although justice prevailed, it’s … very long overdue. And this shouldn’t have taken three months.” He’s right, and it never should’ve happened in the first place.
In the courts, a federal judge put a stop to the Trump regime’s attempts to withhold transportation funding from states that refuse to go along with his terrible immigration abuses. And another judge blocked Trump’s attempt to ban international students from Harvard.
Speaking of Harvard—a study from the university found that the number of protests in America through March of this year tripled when compared to 2017. The last 2 mass protests were some of the largest in US history. So let’s keep it up!
North Carolina’s Dem Gov. Josh Stein used his veto power to knock down dangerous legislation that would have allowed people to conceal and carry handguns without a permit. The other would’ve required local and state law enforcement to partner with the Trump regime in its immigration abuses. Thanks to our awesome subscriber Joe English for flagging this.
JD Vance went on a fundraising trip to Los Angeles yesterday. Vance made time for a propaganda press conference, and a photo op with troops the Trump regime illegally put there.
I won’t waste time giving you a quote from Vance, but he did refer to Dem Sen. Alex Padilla as “Jose Padilla.” Vance served in the Senate with Padilla, he’s known his name for years. This was blatantly racist.
Dem Sen. Adam Schiff slammed Vance for “taking this cheap shot to distract from the real fear and havoc this Administration is creating. It’s pathetic.” It absolutely is.
During the presser, Vance also attacked CA Gov. Gavin Newsom, who responded by saying: “Nice of you to finally make it out to California. Since you’re so eager to talk about me, how about saying it to my face? Let’s debate. Time and place?” I’d love to see that happen.
Yesterday, Trump pathetically pushed for a special prosecutor to investigate the 2020 election—the one that he overwhelmingly lost to former President Joe Biden. This colossal waste of time will likely cost millions in taxpayer dollars, and is clearly a move to distract everyone from Trump’s rampant corruption.
Trump also publicly admonished his Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard again—right before attending a sleazy super PAC dinner at his golf club. Not to mention his endless whining about the fact he’ll never win a Nobel Peace Prize.
This is what we’re dealing with: an unhinged, unfit megalomaniac who should never be in any elected office. That’s why we cut through his lies to give you the truth, while taking action—and delivering tangible results.
Our movement has never been stronger. Our social media initiatives dominate trends as we fight GOP cuts and Trump’s big evil bill. And our enormous Contact Congress campaign reaches Senators and Reps. thousands of times a day.
We have no rich bosses, no shady advertisers, and no big donors trying to call the shots. We’re completely independent—funded entirely by our readers. And we must keep it that way.
