No Fear: Brave Veterans In Congress Choose Constitution Over Tyrant, Americans Flood DC Demanding Trump’s Impeachment, and AOC Dismantles A Big Trump Lie
Resistance rises while the regime begins to crumble
As always, I wanted to thank you for taking the time to read today’s news brief. I’m truly glad you’re here, and I hope this gives you some relief from the chaos—even if only for a moment.
One note before we start: Being independent can be tough. Since I refuse to run ads, court billionaires, or accept any sort of corporate influence, our survival depends solely on this community. So if you value our journalism and activism, I hope you’ll support our movement by becoming a paid subscriber today:
Let’s dive in.
DC PROTESTS
A series of “Remove The Regime” protests started in Washington, DC yesterday, and will continue this weekend. The group that organized the event wrote: “We are demanding impeachment and removal, and we are demanding it NOW.”
Kicking off at Union Station, demonstrators marched past the Senate buildings, while chanting: “Impeach, convict, remove!” and “lock him up!” Later, they broke into smaller groups to drive that message home at different Congressional offices.
I helped run the first impeachment campaign against Trump. It helped rip apart the second half of his term, and allowed the House to move faster than it can in normal investigations. This will surely become a major campaign issue in 2026.
NPR WINS BACK SOME FUNDING
After Trump’s continual assault on public broadcasting, NPR finally secured a legal settlement. They won back around $36 million in funding that was revoked by Trump’s unhinged regime.
NPR head Katherine Maher said it’s “a victory for editorial independence, and a step toward upholding the First Amendment rights of NPR.”
AOC TORCHES “TRUMP’S ECONOMY”
Dem Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez torched Trump’s handling of the economy, and warned against bailouts for his billionaire buddies. AOC stated: “Trump’s economy is being held up by a massive AI bubble. A recent study found that of 300 companies that owned generative AI tools, 95% reported zero return on their investments.”
As one of the first Members of Congress to openly say whether the US economy is in an AI bubble, AOC cautioned: “Should this AI bubble pop, we should not be entertaining a bailout of these corporations while healthcare ... and SNAP is being denied to Americans.”
HOUSE VOTES TO OVERTURN SENATE SCAM
Following massive public outrage, the House unanimously voted 427-0 to repeal part of the funding bill to end Trump’s shutdown. The provision allowed Senators to sue the government if their data was used as part of an investigation without their knowledge.
Essentially, it would have served as a taxpayer handout to GOP Senators who were involved in the failed attempt to overthrow the 2020 election. We’ve seen this time and time again—Trump and his accomplices trying to steal money from the government in any way they can. It’s absolute corruption, and it needs to end.
NO INVITE FOR TRUMP AND VANCE
As you can see in the photo above, the Bushes, Bidens, Pences, Kamala Harris, and Al Gore were all in attendance at Dick Cheney’s funeral yesterday. Trump and Vance did not receive an invitation—for good reason. I’m no fan of Cheney, but he was right when he called Trump a “coward,” and said nobody is a “greater threat” to our country.
REFUSING ILLEGAL ORDERS
This week Sens. Slotkin and Kelly—along with Reps. Crow, DeLuzio, Goodlander, and Houlahan—released a video that received immediate fury from Trump. In it, the members of Congress—all Veterans—simply tell American troops that they should never obey illegal orders.
Shortly after, Trump threw a tantrum of epic proportions, calling for execution of the lawmakers who made the video. In a joint response, the Members of Congress stated that their “oath lasts a lifetime, and we intend to keep it. No threat, intimidation, or call for violence will deter us from that sacred obligation.”
“This isn’t about any one of us,” they added. “This isn’t about politics. This is about who we are as Americans. [We] must unite and condemn [Trump’s] calls for our murder and political violence. This is a time for moral clarity. In these moments, fear is contagious, but so is courage. We will continue to lead and will not be intimidated.”
And neither will we. After a decade of taking on Trump every single day, there’s no way we’re stopping now.
For the last year, our Watchdog Coalition has been helping lead the resistance like few others could. We’ve reached lawmakers 525,000 times since November, while generating billions of impressions online, and taking on maga propaganda head on with our daily news briefs.
The only way we can do this is by remaining absolutely independent. Even just a tad of corporate influence, and they’d pressure me to run ads, or pull back on criticizing Trump. And we will never do that. Ever.
