No Silence, No Surrender: This Great News For Us Is Terrible News For Trump
The regime’s free speech crackdown backfires
As we kick off another week with a tyrant in the White House, I’m glad to have good news for you today. Stories of people speaking out and fighting back.
We have no advertisers or corporate bosses here. Just fearless reporting and relentless activism that’s 100% fueled by our amazing Substack community. So help us turn up the heat on this unhinged regime by becoming a paid subscriber today:
CHICAGO STUDENTS RISE UP
A large group of students in Chicago staged a walkout last week, before gathering to march and hold a rally near Trump Tower.
Carrying signs that read: “Hate never made America great,” and “Your president has a mugshot, my parents don't,” they stood up against the regime’s abusive immigration policies.
BRAZIL TAKES A STAND
Tens of thousands protested in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil yesterday. People made it clear that there should be no amnesty for convicted former president Jair Bolsonaro, who was recently sentenced to more than 27 years in prison for plotting a coup.
Some elected officials are trying to get Bolsonaro off the hook, but Brazilians came out in force to reject that. Waving a giant Brazilian flag that read “no amnesty” in Portuguese, demonstrators also condemned Trump’s tariffs on Brazil, saying they were retaliation for Bolsonaro’s prosecution.
CROCKETT WON’T BEND A KNEE
Dem Rep. Jasmine Crockett brought the fire during an appearance on CNN this weekend. Crockett explained why she voted against a resolution honoring Charlie Kirk, stating that there’s no way she'd celebrate a person who proclaimed “that I was somehow involved in the ‘great white replacement.’”
Crockett said: “Rhetoric that Charlie Kirk continuously put out there … specifically targeted people of color ... he was talking about me negatively, directly.” Crockett added that many of her colleagues should stop being blind to “the amount of harm that this man was attempting to inflict upon our communities.”
MURPHY SENDS A WARNING
Meanwhile, Dem Sen. Chris Murphy went on ABC to slam Trump’s free-speech power grab—calling it “unconstitutional and deeply immoral for the president to jail or silence his political enemies.”
“When is enough enough?” Murphy asked. “We need every Republican in the Senate and House not only speaking up, but going to Donald Trump and telling him that they are not gonna let him get away with this.”
CASAR CALLS OUT MCCARTHYISM 2.0
Dem Rep. Greg Casar also called out the Trump regime’s attacks, stating: “We are in the biggest free-speech crisis this country has faced since the McCarthy era.” Casar said what happened to Charlie Kirk “was a horrific crime, and it's clear that Trump wants to … silence anyone who disagrees with” him.
Trump has done exactly that—weaponized it to tighten his grip on power and implement a Project 2025 wish list. This is why I’ve spent every day for nearly a decade taking on maga, and I’m not stopping now.
We have no advertisers or corporate boards they can pressure to make us play nice. So we’ll keep delivering unfiltered news daily, flooding Congress with calls and letters, and running the biggest social media operation against this regime.

I have three questions for you today.
Do you agree with Rep. Casar’s comparison of Trump’s attack on free speech to the McCarthy era?
What do you think of the protest in Brazil, and the student walkout demonstration in Chicago?
Do you think more Republicans will stand up to Trump’s free speech crackdown?

It's so disheartening to see Republicans ignore the signs of a dictatorship. And isnt Jasmine Crockett the hero we need... I love her. 💙 And I Iove the Chicago students...every single piece of resistance is vital.
