A Big Win For Dems In Utah, A Real President Shows Up For Veterans Day, While Protesters Rise, and GOP Town Hall Backfires
More great news that terrible for Trump
With the constant chaos from Trump and his GOP cult during this shutdown, I’m glad to have more great news for you today. I hope it gives you some relief from all of the madness—even if just for a moment.

Thanks for being here. Let’s jump in.
OBAMA SHOWS UP, TRUMP IS STILL A DISGRACE
On Veterans Day, Trump went to Arlington National Cemetery, reminding everyone he’s a complete disgrace. He was clearly slurring his words, losing his train of thought more than normal, and desperately trying to make the day all about him.
Thankfully, former President Barack Obama showed us how it’s done this weekend—by surprising a group of Veterans as they arrived on an Honor Flight in DC. Obama took over the plane’s loudspeaker, thanking them for their service. He then shook hands and took pictures with them.
In a statement, Obama said: “To all those who bravely served our country, thank you to you and your family for your extraordinary service. The sacrifices that all of you made to protect our country will be honored, today and every day.” It’s nice to see a real president standing up for our Veterans.
REMEMBER YOUR OATH RALLY
Hundreds of Veterans and allies gathered together for a protest outside of Union Station in DC yesterday, to push back against Trump’s rampant abuses of power. With signs that said “Vets Say No,” and “I’m A Veteran. Not A Sucker Or A Loser,” it was a great crowd.
GOP TOWN HALL GOES POORLY
GOP Rep. Mariannette Miller-Meeks held a town hall this week—her first one this year—and it did not go well. It took place in Keosauqua, Iowa, where attendees were fired up about a litany of issues. Loud boos from the crowd explain why Miller-Meeks had been refusing to hold town halls, saying she’d do one “when hell freezes over.”
Many folks left early or were escorted away by police for speaking out. Luckily, Miller-Meeks is in one of the most competitive districts in the country, and is likely to lose her seat next November.
A HUGE WIN IN UTAH
A judge in Utah delivered a huge blow to Trump’s efforts to steal the 2026 election. Saying a Republican-gerrymandered Congressional map does “not comply with Utah law,” the judge ruled in favor of a map that will create a heavily Democratic district in the state. It’s a huge pickup for Dems as they fight to retake Congress in the midterms.
LOOK HOW FAR WE’VE COME
Dem Sen. Chris Van Hollen opposed the bogus shutdown deal, but found a silver lining in how powerful our resistance movement has become: “Early on, there were not enough members of Congress who recognized the magnitude of the threat Donald Trump poses to our democracy and Constitution. That has changed.”
Absolutely. When I was calling for Trump’s impeachment way back in January of 2017, I was on an island with almost no support from Congress. Most everyone still thought things were business as usual with Trump, but not anymore.
Van Hollen added: “The lesson is there is power in unity and in members of Congress working in partnership with the grassroots community. This is why so many people are feeling let down at this moment, because that unity was important.”
He’s right. It’s okay for folks to feel let down by the eight Senators who caved to Trump, but we have to keep moving full speed ahead. We’ve made it through storm after storm over the last decade, and we will plow through this one as well.
We’ll continue to share our daily news briefs with millions on the biggest social media platforms, smashing maga propaganda on an epic scale. I have two questions for you today.
What do you think about Van Hollen’s message?
Do you think Adelita Grijalva should confront Mike Johnson at her swearing-in ceremony?

Today we are focused on these three actions:
