Portland Mayor Tells Federal Agents To Leave, Milan Rejects ICE, and Pritzker Demands Prosecution For The Monsters Behind Trump’s Tyranny
The growing movement against Trump’s abusive federal agents
While Trump threatens to sue comedians and his regime tries to bury one scandal after another, millions of Americans are taking to the streets and refusing to be silenced. So I’m glad to have today’s news brief for you—I hope it brings you some relief from all the chaos.
Corporate media won’t tell these stories honestly—if they cover them at all—which is why The Dworkin Report exists. We’re tracking the corruption, amplifying protests, and cutting through the noise to deliver the truth. TARGET PROTESTS
In addition to anti-ICE demonstrations held across the country this weekend, protesters gathered at more than 18 Target stores in Minnesota, where the corporation is based.
ICE has been staging some of its operations in Target parking lots in the Minneapolis-Saint Paul area, so folks were demanding an end to that. Some signs read: “Target, support your community not ICE abuse” and “Shut down Target to kick ICE out.”
PORTLAND MAYOR DROPS THE HAMMER
Thousands attended the “ICE Out” protest in Portland, Oregon on Saturday, during which Trump’s federal agents fired tear gas and other munitions at the crowd. Some of those hit were children in strollers.
Portland Mayor Keith Wilson’s response was blunt: “To those who continue to work for ICE: Resign. To those who control this facility: Leave. Through your use of violence and the trampling of the Constitution, you have lost all legitimacy and replaced it with shame.”
Wilson continued, telling ICE agents to “go home, look in a mirror, and ask yourselves why you have gassed children.” Anyone who works for Trump should do the same.
OLYMPIC PROTEST AGAINST ICE
The Winter Olympics kick off this week in Italy—and residents are furious that Trump says he’s sending ICE to the games. On Saturday, a large crowd gathered in Milan to protest ICE at Piazza XXV Aprile—a square that pays homage to the city’s liberation from the nazis. Fitting.
Milan Mayor Giuseppe Sala didn’t mince words, telling local media: “This is a militia that kills, a militia that enters into the homes of people, signing their own permission slips. It is clear they are not welcome in Milan, without a doubt.”
ICED OUT BY TOWN HALL CROWD
GOP Rep. Cory Mills of Florida held two town halls last week, drawing hundreds of protesters both inside and outside the venues.
When pressed about his vote to fund ICE—and the killing of Renee Good—Mills responded with a smug reference to Vanilla Ice’s song “Ice Ice Baby.” One member of the crowd responded by calling him a fascist.
Mills is the same congressman who had a restraining order filed against him by his ex-girlfriend, and is currently facing a House Ethics investigation. He earned this backlash.
PRITZKER CALLS FOR PROSECUTIONS
While in Nevada, Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker delivered a blistering speech calling for Stephen Miller and DHS Secretary Kristi Noem to be fired.
“The monsters responsible for unleashing this havoc on American cities,” Pritzker said, “whether they were firing at civilians in the streets or calling the shots from their cushy offices in Washington, need to be investigated and prosecuted.”
He added that the regime’s inhumane abuse of power is backfiring: “The horrors inflicted by MAGA, they aren’t dividing us anymore. They’re uniting us. They’re uniting Americans against the tyranny of Donald Trump.”
Pritzker is right—accountability isn’t optional, it’s how democracies survive. And that’s exactly why we launched our Midterm Accountability Project. We don’t just cover the horrors—we spotlight the wins, amplify the leaders who are fighting back, and give acts of resistance the attention they deserve.
