Press Breaks Record For Worst Coverage to Start a New Year Ever
And it will only get worse from here
As we outlined earlier this week, 2024 was another year of corporate media choosing money over truth. Their maga propaganda and bogus headlines dominated the news, helping to tilt the election for Trump.
It seems clear that press coverage is about to get a lot worse, with ring-kissing and acquiescence like we’ve never seen before.
The Washington Post came out with an Editorial Board piece, that was simply a long essay with confusing dribble regarding the new year. One look at this, and you’ll see why hundreds of thousands of people have canceled their subscriptions to WaPo.
In the post, they said: “Millions of Americans have stopped following the news, many because they’re certain it will be bad.”
Let me stop you right there. Folks didn’t quit following the news, they just stopped reading WaPo’s nonsense. And not because it could be bad news, they stopped reading because the coverage is bad.
WaPo also said Americans should “embrace uncertainty.” Yeah, a newspaper should never say that. Especially when their lies and pro-maga spin are a huge reason for the uncertainty out there.
Over at CNN, they actually found a way to downplay Trump’s role in spreading disinformation about immigrants, following the terrible attack in New Orleans. The headline reads: “Trump falsely links New Orleans terror attack to migrants after erroneous Fox News report.”
CNN had it sort of right, before adding Fox to the equation—as if Donald doesn't deserve all the blame for his actions.
The title should have read: “Trump uses New Orleans terror attack to lie about immigrants.” See how easy that is?
Speaking of Fox, they’re up to their old tricks. They essentially posted pro-Kash Patel propaganda with this headline: “Trump source blasts FBI, urges swift confirmation of Kash Patel as director.”
This is horrible in so many ways.
The recent terror attacks do not warrant a swift confirmation. If anything, these events remind us how serious the FBI Director role is. Suggesting that we should skip intense public vetting, is just plain dangerous.
And what in the world is a “Trump source?” They literally say it’s someone close to Trump. Not an anti-terrorism expert, not a law enforcement official. It’s just some random person, as far as we can tell.
With the way corporate media kicked off 2025, it’s clear that our Watchdog Coalition is going to be busier than ever this year. And when Trump takes office in a few weeks, we will certainly see much more maga spin and propaganda from the Press.
Which is why we can never let our guard down, and we must continue to call out their lies at a constant.
The one thing we can never do, is stay silent. Because if there is no accountability for the Press, there is no stopping Trump.
Onward,
Scott

BTW, Where is corporate media on the guy the FBI arrested in Virginia with the biggest stash of homemade bombs that they have ever confiscated in December? The prosecutor is trying to keep him in custody and his lawyer is fighting to get him released. He sounds like another Trump citizen that hates democrats. Uses Joe Biden’s picture for target practice. Crickets from the media.
