Newsom mocks Trump, Obama speaks out on immigration, and more

The fallout from Trump’s abysmal, wannabe-authoritarian parade is just beginning. Whether it’s images of a sleepy and bored Trump, Marco Rubio yawning, or the White House lying about crowd size—it’s beyond pathetic.

CA Gov. Gavin Newsom posted a video mocking Trump for his parade, featuring clips of the massive protest crowds, and shots of Trump and Melania with a squeaky tank rolling by in the background. We need more of this.

Trump pretending to respect the troops is one of the biggest lies he’s ever told. He hijacked an event meant for our military, turning it into his own birthday party—and now Trump should be forced to pay for the whole thing.

The fact is, millions and millions of Americans spent their Saturday protesting against Trump, while a mere thousands showed up for his failed parade. Before this weekend, maybe Elon Musk was the most unpopular person in the world—but now, it’s clearly Trump.

Early estimates from the ACLU indicate that more than 5 million people took part in the No Kings day events, with some organizers suggesting numbers as high as 13 million. While we don’t have a final number yet, it was undoubtedly one of the largest protests in US history.

At one major demonstration in California, a 7-mile human chain was formed between Tesla dealerships in Palo Alto and Sunnyvale. It’s estimated that more than 20,000 people joined along the route—an amazing display of unity and resistance.

And on Ocean Beach, demonstrators formed an enormous human banner proclaiming “NO KING!” “The flag doesn’t belong to Donald Trump. It belongs to us,” the event’s organizing page said. “We’re not watching history happen. We’re making it.”

This won’t be the last protest held of this magnitude. Now that folks know that they can assemble in every corner of America, and even abroad—the sky's the limit.

We all know what we’re up against—a tyrannical madman and his accomplices. So we must keep speaking out, get even louder, and use our momentum to keep pushing forward. We will get through this together.

Former President Barack Obama spoke out against Trump’s disastrous immigration abuses, saying “families with similar backgrounds who just want to live, work, and support their communities, are being demonized and treated as enemies.” They sure are, and Trump is to blame.

“We can fix our broken immigration system while still recognizing our common humanity and treating each other with dignity and respect,” Obama stated. “In fact, it’s the only way we ever will.”

We must push as hard as possible every single day to move away from Trump’s corruption, destruction, and incompetence.
