LA Dodgers stand up, Joe Biden’s speech, bad Fox “News” poll for Trump, and more

Yesterday, former President Joe Biden spoke at a celebration honoring Juneteenth in Galveston, TX. Biden signed the legislation in 2021 that made it a federal holiday. “Folks, I don't only come here to commemorate the past,” Biden said. “I come here because we know the good Lord is not done with us yet. We got work to do.”

“We need to make good on the promises of liberty, and equality, and justice for all,” the former President stated.

GOP Rep. Mark Alford held a town hall this week in Belton, Missouri, where he was met by protesters. The outraged crowd chanted: “Hey hey! Ho Ho! Mark Alford has got to go!”

Alford hadn’t held a town hall since February, which was a disaster. There were some boos and Alford was also yelled at by one constituent. Once again, he offered no real plan for anything, while spewing conspiracy theories laced with maga talking points. It was pathetic, but par for the course for Republicans.

There’s new trouble in the golden-plated paradise. Trump became infuriated with Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, after she released a video that contradicts his claims about Iran’s nuclear program.

When asked about it, Trump claimed to not care what Tulsi said. And now, rumors are circulating that Trump may fire Gabbard.

A new sculpture mysteriously appeared on the National Mall. It features a golden hand giving a thumbs up, while crushing the head of the Statue of Liberty. A plaque on it reads “dictator approved,” and features a quote from Vladimir Putin praising Trump. The White House called it “ugly,” making the display even more beautiful.

Former US Ambassador to Ukraine Bridget Brink—who resigned after Trump’s disgraceful Oval Office ambush of Volodymyr Zelensky—announced that she raised more than $250,000 in the first 24 hours of her campaign for Congress. The race, in Michigan’s 7th Congressional District, will be one of the most competitive in the US.

Brink stated: “I’ve stood up to the Trump Administration’s reckless policies. Together, we can fight back against the chaos and corruption coming out of Washington.”

As always, we should take polls with a grain of salt. But when a Fox “News” poll is this terrible for Trump, we just can’t ignore it. The survey shows that nearly 59% of Americans are against Trump’s big evil bill—and less than half of Republicans polled believe the bill would benefit them personally. Unless they’re billionaires, it won’t.

Yesterday, the LA Dodgers stood up to federal agents, releasing a statement saying: “ICE agents came to Dodger Stadium and requested permission to access the parking lots. They were denied entry to the grounds by the organization.”

The Dept. of Homeland Security said it had nothing to do with ICE—later claiming Customs and Border Protection were only “in the stadium parking lot very briefly.”

But video I reviewed clearly shows they weren’t there just “briefly.” Protesters eventually gathered outside the entrance to the parking lot, and soon after the remaining agents were escorted off the premises by LAPD.

This all unfolded on the same day the Dodgers were set to announce their community assistance program for immigrants. I don’t believe the timing here is coincidental.
