The cracks in the regime’s armor are finally showing up in daylight. If this is what the 250th brings, I’m ready for the next round.

Two or three former presidents are heaving a huge sigh of relief that they're no longer in danger of being rated The Worst President in U.S. History.

Wis's avatar

😅. I wonder if Nixon, wherever he is, is pleased to lose the renown of being The Worst, or not?

Susanna J. Sturgis's avatar

Hmm. I don't rate Nixon anywhere close to the worst. Creating the Environmental Protection Agency lifts him up to at least mediocre. The usual names at the bottom of the heap are Grant and Harding. IMO "worst" and "despicable" aren't the same -- I reserve "worst" for the incompetent and/or corrupt, and maybe those whose incompetence led to disaster, like Buchanan and Hoover. Trump, however, seems to have combined the worst of the worst into one package.

Wis's avatar

I think in modern history, Nixon has been seen as the worst, though I actually totally agree with you: he did great things for the environment (which is the top issue I vote for). Still, he was an outright criminal.

In any case, whichever president we compare to trump will lose: trump is by far both the worst AND the most despicable, so no contest. 😉

Had wonderful 4th with family, not trump’s disaster!!!

As am I, Sam!👍

New Orleans did not bend the knee and Mamdani is a kingmaker. Good week Scott!

Frank Talk, Jr.'s avatar

I humbly submit that "Kingmaker" is an unfortunate misnomer in my opinion, Mike. I've often given your comments "likes" and have said to keep on "hammering," but we want no kings, and thus no kingmaker. Mamdani is a great asset in our struggle to firmly establish equal rights for all under law without exception. But I still want you to "keep hammering" Mike, metaphorically speaking (and my apologies if you think it should be obvious that's what you're doing with the term I criticize here). I'd still like to see Dems take both houses of Congress this year (and have Ro Khanna as Speaker) and then impeach and convict the VP and his treasonous nincompoop boss as soon as possible...

Nincompoop = Incompetent Poop.

I had a great fourth. What a fiasco in DC last night, huh?!

Onward!

Patricia Davis's avatar

I haven’t heard but who didn’t expected it.

Wis's avatar

Me neither - but I hope it was a major fiasco!

Linda A's avatar

Now we have a bad air quality advisory in Northern VA.

Wis's avatar

We live under one in CO, it seems. 😡

Renee Goodman's avatar

Wis, yes there are 12 fires happening in Colorado!

Wis's avatar

Renee: Is that all? 🙄

Again: 😡

…And there were still idiots setting off firecrackers in my neighborhood last night. My doggo was miserable. ☹️ I was pissed. 😠

He and I watched an old Columbo movie and comforted each other! 💕

I have read a lot of unhinged horseshit in my fifty-odd years, but a billionaire warning a megachurch that democratic socialism will leave them with "no nothing" while he guts their food assistance in broad daylight is a special vintage of gaslighting, bottled and aged.

New Orleans is an interesting story I hadn’t heard before. Thanks

Sandy S's avatar

There is a lot of news that is not making the airways these days! Good thing we have Scott and several others here at Substack telling us about what is happening!

Proudly on the team that has supported Major Jason Watson.

That Louisiana AG vs New Orleans case would make the NCGOP & Paxton blush.

T L Mills's avatar

Paxton blush? Nah...Paxton might be mad that he didn't think of Murrill's illegal move first, but blush? Never. Paxton is thoroughly amoral and has no conscience, thus is incapable of feeling shame or embarrassment.

Rue Ryuzaki's avatar

Understandable. I guess I could have went with envious or jealous.

Nice weekend didn’t feel like celebrating the 4th but did enjoy friends and watching fireworks from my deck. Longing to be able to be happy to celebrate the Tricentennial. I’ll be cheerleading the country to make that landmark as a free country without all the hate.

Scott, if only there were another POTUS at this 250th birthday!

Diana's avatar

Maybe our 253rd can be our "do-over."

Fred Jonas's avatar

There were three others. And we missed them all: even the dimwit. We also thought about all the other ones, who happened to have been in office at a different time.

As Scott sort of says, we just have to look forward, toward an adaptive country. Yesterday was a write-off.

Colleen Wetteland's avatar

Pretty good, hopefully all of the fireworks are over! They have been shooting them off for over a week in a city where they are actually illegal, and up to a $1,000 fine, but I guess the police were too busy to actually fine anyone.

I have to LOVE the Republican AG getting indicted, I hope she sees the inside of a jail cell!

What a disgrace that a MAJOR in our Air Force is arrested for holding up a sign (btw he spoke the truth and I agree wholeheartedly with his sign!). Sorry that happened to you Jason Watson and I sincerely hope you do NOT suffer further consequences!

Great speech Mayor Mamdani!

Patti Scott's avatar

Jason Watson should listen to Mark Kelly and “Fight like hell”

Colleen Wetteland's avatar

I'm sure he is, or he wouldn't have done that! And I'm sure someone like Norm Eisen would defend him if he needs it.

Thank you, Scott.😁

THIS is exactly the point I was trying to make yesterday.

A NEIGHBOR, is seeing what is happening to “We the people” (HIS neighbors)….. with his HEART….and speaking out.

Thank you, Scott for your compassion, understanding and guidance of what is happening to your neighbors…..and showing us what we should ALL DO❤️

SPEAKING UP AND LOUD❤️❤️❤️❤️

“NEIGHBORS LOOKING OUT FOR THEIR NEIGHBORS”

I understand people want change , much of it has boldly been exposed by the current regime. Instead of improvement they put the very essence , named corruption in bold headlines/broken news and liar fires.

Expect it doubling down, another round of the same blame . Insane games.

Somehow I sense the air is clearing.

Thank you for your effort, Scott.

Stay the course loves 🫶

My July 4-250 was spent with a friend who simply needed some help. My July 5 is a perfect “goose bump” day after reading The Dworkin Report. Thank you, Scott, for making sure we know about every good soul who steps up refusing to give up.

Robot Bender's avatar

Stayed home, grilled some beer brats, watched the NYC fireworks on TV. We really didn't feel it this year.

Sandy S's avatar

Wishing you a 'Happy July 5th' Robot Bender! Always appreciate hearing from you! :-)

Wis's avatar

Most thinking Americans “didn’t feel it this year”, either. I watched an old Columbo movie. 🥰

Heartwarming and encouraging news Scott…..thank you for your service 🌟
