Republicans Run From Their Own Slush Fund Vote, Two More States Block The Regime’s Voter Data Grab, and Michael Fanone Calls This Trump’s Greatest Betrayal Yet
Even Trump’s own lawyer won’t defend it
What a week. Republicans were forced into a vote so brutal they canceled it and ran from DC. A Jan 6 hero called Trump’s slush fund the greatest betrayal of his life. Federal judges blocked the regime’s voter data grab in two more states. And Colorado Democrats censured their own governor for caving to Trump over a convicted election saboteur.

SLUSH FUND BACKFIRES
The regime just opened the door to giving taxpayer money to rioters who stormed the Capitol on Jan 6. The corruption is so brazen it even lost one of its own. Brian Morrissey—who clerked for Clarence Thomas—quit the day the slush fund launched.
But one of the loudest voices against it this week was hero Michael Fanone. The former DC police officer was tased to the point of a heart attack defending the Capitol on Jan. 6—and has refused to let America forget ever since.
After watching the regime announce a $1.776 billion payout to the people who tried to kill him, Fanone let them have it: “A nearly 2 billion dollar slush fund wrapped in an American symbol to be placed like a wreath at Arlington Cemetery to the violent insurrectionists who tried to overthrow democracy over a lie. In my book, this is the greatest betrayal of them all.”
Fanone’s been loudly fighting this regime since the moment Trump summoned that mob. This week, their corruption proved everything he’s said right.
TRUMP’S ACCOMPLICES ARE RUNNING AWAY
Trump launched his slush fund this week. Within hours, Democrats had turned it into a trap. Rep. Jamie Raskin moved first, filing legislation that would bar Jan 6 defendants, Trump, his family, his Cabinet, and his political appointees from ever getting a dime.
Then Sen. Chris Van Hollen filed an amendment so brutal—blocking the slush fund from paying out to violent criminals—that Senate Republicans canceled their own vote rather than going on the record.
The same Republicans who confirmed the most corrupt Cabinet ever—and funded this regime—suddenly found a line they wouldn’t cross. Senator Dick Durbin nailed it: “On May 21st 2026, Republicans finally found an ethical bridge too far.”
Democrats didn’t just oppose the slush fund. They made the regime’s own party afraid to defend it.
TWO JUDGES, TWO MORE LOSSES FOR TRUMP
Federal judges in Maine and Wisconsin handed the DOJ a double defeat on Thursday—making it a total of eight states where federal courts have rejected the regime’s voter data grab. The DOJ wanted dates of birth, home addresses, driver’s license numbers, and partial Social Security numbers from every state’s voter rolls.
In Maine, Chief US District Judge Lance Walker called the government’s claim “half-hearted” and threw it out. In Wisconsin, US District Judge James Pederson ruled the federal civil rights law the regime cited gave it no power to demand voter data.
Maine Secretary of State Shenna Bellows didn’t mince words: “Trump and the DOJ may continue to try to interfere with free and fair elections run by the states. We will not let them.”
The regime wants a national voter database. The courts keep saying no.
WE ARE NOT THE SAME
Then came Colorado. And the proof that accountability isn’t a partisan weapon—it’s a principle that applies to everyone—including Democrats.
Last week, Gov. Jared Polis cut Tina Peters’ nine-year sentence in half. Peters is the former Mesa County Clerk who breached her own voting systems as part of a scheme to manufacture evidence to support Trump’s 2020 election lie. She’s released on parole June 1.
Colorado Secretary of State Jena Griswold didn’t hold back: “Selling out our state’s justice system for Trump is an affront to the rule of law.”
The Colorado Democratic Party refused to look the other way, with 90% of the State Central Committee voting on Wednesday to formally censure Polis and bar him from attending party events.
DNC member Stephanie Beal was clear: “Reducing her sentence now, under pressure from Donald Trump, is not justice. It sends a message to future bad actors that election tampering has consequences unless you’re friends with the president.”
REMEMBER THIS
The regime announced a $1.776 billion payout to Jan 6 rioters and expected people to be quiet about it. Instead, the country fought back.
Fanone called it the greatest betrayal. Raskin filed his bill. Van Hollen made Republicans cancel their own vote. Federal judges shut the door in the regime’s face. And Colorado Democrats censured their own governor.
Here’s the part you don’t see. Behind every one of these wins is an operation leading the resistance forward—725,000 phone calls and emails to Congress since November 2024, billions of monthly impressions on social media, and our Watchdog Coalition is uniting elected officials, labor leaders, and partner organizations into one fight.
None of this happens without paid subscribers. Not the reporting. Not the pressure campaigns. Not the coalition. None of it.
