Trump Faces Rejection In North Carolina, Rebellion In Congress, and Looming Defeat On Epstein Transparency—The Resistance Has Momentum
A big win is within reach
As we begin another week of absolute madness coming from the Trump regime, I’m glad to have more great news for you today.
Thanks so much for being here. Let’s jump right in.
PROTESTS ACROSS NORTH CAROLINA
Protests continued against Trump’s immigration abuses in North Carolina on Sunday. From Raleigh to Asheville, and all across Charlotte, folks made it clear that his federal agents weren’t welcome or needed.
NC Gov. Josh Stein condemned the recent deployment of agents to Charlotte, saying: “This is not making us safer. It’s stoking fear and dividing our community.” Stein also stated: “As this situation develops, I will continue to stay in touch with local and state officials to keep people safe, respect the rule of law, and support our people.”
ABYSMAL POLLING FOR TRUMP
A new AP-NORC poll shows that Trump’s approval rating for his handling of the government has dropped 13% among Republicans. And overall, it’s sitting at an abysmal 33%. I still believe that number is way too high, but it shows how incredibly unpopular Trump has become.
MAGA INFIGHTING
Massive infighting is erupting within the maga cult, as GOP Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene has so far refused to bend a knee to Trump on the Epstein files. You have them calling each other traitors, Trump attacking Greene, and rightwing propagandists demanding a primary challenge against her.
Greene is no saint. Her lies and dangerous debunked conspiracy theories over the years have led to death threats against elected officials—and even myself. She also played a major role in the Jan 6 insurrection, having urged folks to come to DC on that day. But it’s great that she’s doing the right thing, for once.
Dem Rep. Jasmine Crockett has some “advice” for Greene when it comes to Trump: “I’m here for you girl… I told you not to trust him… all he cares about is HIMself (and protecting pedos) he never loved you ... Trust me, sis, you are better off without him.”
MASSIE KEEPS GOING
I’m no fan of GOP Rep. Thomas Massie either, but I’m glad he’s also standing his ground when it comes to releasing the Epstein files.
In an interview aired this weekend, Massie warned his colleagues who vote against releasing the Epstein files: “By 2030, [Trump’s] not gonna be the president, and you will have voted to protect pedophiles if you don’t vote to release those files. The record of this vote will last longer than Donald Trump’s presidency.”
EPSTEIN FILE VOTE LOOMS
This week, the House will vote on releasing the Epstein files. There are reports that dozens of Republicans—possibly even more than 100—will vote yes. And over the weekend, Trump must have finally realized he’s going to lose, because he suddenly decided to tell members of Congress to support the measure.
But we can’t take anything for granted, so we’re moving full speed ahead. We’ll continue to run our massive Contact Congress campaign, and dominate the social media narrative nonstop—including on X/Twitter, where Republicans spend a bulk of their time.
We have one of the most powerful online presences in politics—and we intend to use it. But we need all hands on deck. So please back our reporting and activism by becoming a paid subscriber today:

I have one question for you today.
Why do you think Trump suddenly decided to tell House Republicans to vote yes on releasing the Epstein files?

Today we are focused on these four actions:
NEW: Support a discharge petition to force a vote on the ACA tax credits: https://tinyurl.com/w23tnvxm
Pass the bipartisan Epstein Files Transparency Act: https://tinyurl.com/3yfw2m7a
Help us push for an investigation into the Epstein scandal HERE: https://tinyurl.com/4pfh2p4f
Pass bill on unmasking ICE and displaying clear ID here: https://tinyurl.com/bp8cau82
I don’t know why, but 47 has been deceitful and a liar for probably 70 years. He’s not changing.
