This Good News Will Ruin Trump’s Weekend—I’m Cool With That
Signs of resistance, sparks of hope, and another terrible week for Trump
After another long week of the Trump regime’s nonsense, I’m glad to have some great news for you today. From owners of TV networks caving to public pressure, to people peacefully rising up and fighting back, I hope this serves as proof that our momentum is starting to build. Thanks for being here. Let’s dive in.
FACT CHECK: FBI ON JAN 6
GOP attempts to revive a long-debunked conspiracy theory—that the FBI instigated the Jan 6 riot—fell flat this week. Trump’s allies spread the lie across the internet, but it backfired spectacularly and crumbled under scrutiny.
Let’s be clear: FBI agents were there that day, but they were responding to the violence—not inciting it. This GOP stunt did nothing but remind everyone that Trump and his allies were responsible for all of it.
I know some of the heroes of Jan 6 personally, and their sacrifice is undeniable. We will never allow anyone to rewrite the truth about that day.
WORKERS DEMAND WHAT THEY DESERVE
In North Carolina, hundreds of people protested at Duke University this week. Organized by Durham Rising, demonstrators demanded they pay workers a minimum wage of $25, and contribute more to the city of Durham, where the university is based.
SINCLAIR AND NEXSTAR BEND TO PUBLIC PRESSURE
Last night, Jimmy Kimmel Live! resumed broadcasting on ABC affiliates owned by Sinclair and Nexstar. The reversal followed protests outside several studios, and a surging boycott movement aimed at Sinclair and Nexstar’s advertisers.
This is more proof that public pressure works.
NEWSOM BRINGS IT
CA Gov. Gavin Newsom ripped into Trump’s disastrous performance at the UN this week. Slamming Trump for saying climate change is a “con job,” Newsom stated: “What an abomination. What a fraud.”
Newsom also went after the regime’s “investigation” into an escalator malfunction during Trump’s UN visit. In a social media post that appears to show a broken escalator at Trump Tower, Newsom called it “A REAL DISGRACE,” saying he’s “launched an investigation into this matter.” Hilarious.
NEW FILES RELEASED
House Democrats released explosive new evidence provided by lawyers of Epstein’s estate, which include the names of Elon Musk, Peter Thiel, and Steve Bannon.
With Trump also named in the files, it’s no wonder why Republicans are scrambling to cover it all up. But we won’t let them bury the truth.
THE COMEY DISTRACTION
Following the bogus indictment of former FBI Director James Comey, Dem Rep. Jamie Raskin called the move a “complete politicization of the Department of Justice.” Raskin argued that it’s just another distraction from the Epstein scandal, saying the DOJ is in “full cover-up mode.”
“We’re in the midst of trying to get this information with apparently real crimes,” Raskin stated. “And we’ve got a strong, bipartisan majority saying: ‘Stop the cover-up of the Epstein files. Just go ahead and release them.’”
IGNORE THE CYNICS
At a recent virtual town hall, Dem Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez was asked how we can stand up to authoritarianism. AOC replied: “I want to encourage each and every one of you, when a cynic says ‘protesting doesn’t matter,’ or ‘boycotting … doesn’t matter,’ do not listen to them.”
AOC said Kimmel is back on the air because of “everyday people not choosing to listen to the cynics that say ‘canceling your subscription isn’t going to do anything.’ People started acting with their hearts … and those boycotts changed the course.”
AOC is spot on—no matter how loud they may get, don’t listen to the cynics. This is the kind of strength and leadership it takes to confront this regime’s constant chaos. And it’s exactly how we’ve been taking on Trump for nearly a decade.
We have no advertisers and no corporate bigwigs telling us what to say. That means Trump can’t cancel us—not our daily news briefs, our massive Contact Congress campaign, or our social media organizing—which just yesterday trended #TrumpsGovernmentShutdown to #3 in the US on Twitter/X.

I have two questions for you today.
What helps you ignore the cynics?
Do you agree with Jamie Raskin that the Comey indictment is just another distraction from the Epstein files?
