Roundup: Great News That’s Bad For Trump
The week’s 8 biggest wins
The regime is taking hits from every direction right now, and I’m here to make sure you don’t miss a single resistance win. I know a lot of us are tired. I know it feels like every morning the country wakes up to a new headline that wears you down.
This is the part where you get to stop the doomscrolling for a few minutes and let the good news roll in. I promise it’s worth the time, and there’s more of it out there than you might think.
Hit the ❤️ like button and re-stack these wins. Some are concrete victories—laws signed, elections won, charges filed. Some are the regime getting exposed or people fighting back. All of them are proof the resistance is hitting back harder than they want you to know.
Eight wins. Seven days. Here we go.
1. The Senate’s referee killed a billion-dollar ballroom heist. Senate parliamentarian Elizabeth MacDonough ruled that Republicans broke Senate rules when they tried to slip $1 billion into a Secret Service bill—including $220 million for Trump’s “free” ballroom. Trump phoned Majority Leader Thune and demanded she be fired. She still has her job. Trump lost his billion.
2. Two Jan 6 officers turned Trump into a defendant again. Jan 6 heroes Daniel Hodges and Harry Dunn sued this week to dissolve Trump’s $1.776 billion slush fund—the taxpayer-funded pot of money built to pay off the rioters who attacked them. Their lead lawyer is Brendan Ballou, the Jan 6 prosecutor who quit the DOJ over Trump’s pardons of the insurrectionists. The men who held the line in 2021 are still making Trump answer for it.
3. Trump’s secret tax shield collapsed before lunch. Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche quietly posted a memo claiming the IRS could never again investigate Trump or his businesses for tax fraud. Sen. Ron Wyden caught it within hours and called it “completely invalid.” Even Blanche’s allies admitted he had no authority to sign it. They tried to do it in the dark—the light got there first.
4. Hennepin County charges another ICE agent. ICE Agent Christian Castro shot a Venezuelan immigrant through his front door and allegedly lied about it. He’s the second ICE agent in Minnesota charged with felony assault this year. ICE thought the badge meant immunity. They were wrong.
5. Nine prosecutors told Trump’s goons their badge won’t protect them. They formed a coalition called FAFO—Fight Against Federal Overreach. Philadelphia DA Larry Krasner was direct: anyone who intimidates voters at the polls “is going to find out what ‘find out’ means.” The regime thought federal power meant unchecked power. Nine major cities just told them otherwise.
6. The NAACP and Congressional Black Caucus hit the South where it hurts. The NAACP told Black athletes to boycott eight gerrymandering Southern states. And the Congressional Black Caucus killed the bill college sports leagues wanted most. Two different efforts. One message: the South does not get to take Black political power without a fight.
7. Mississippi marched for the vote. Thousands marched on Wednesday in Jackson, past Gov. Tate Reeves’s mansion. Reeves had called Rep. Bennie Thompson’s 33-year career in Congress a “reign of terror” for registering Black voters. Thompson took the stage and answered him: “Between now and November, you better hold on.”
8. Georgia handed Keisha Lance Bottoms a 57% victory. The former Atlanta mayor won the Democratic gubernatorial primary outright on the first ballot. Georgia has not elected a Democratic governor since 1998. In November, she could become the first Black woman ever elected governor in American history.
Eight wins in seven days. The regime is loud. The resistance is louder. And we aren’t slowing down.
I’ve been fighting Trump for more than a decade now. We were one of the first anti-Trump groups ever. We investigated and covered Trump’s Epstein and Russia scandals before the big papers would even touch them.
This week, I launched the Watchdog Coalition Against Trump’s Corruption—alongside the Democratic Coalition and its affiliate groups, elected officials, labor union leaders, and progressive organizations from across the country. The mission is simple: expose every piece of Trump’s corruption and use it to flip the House and Senate in the midterms.
Millions of phone calls and emails to Congress. Stories that reach 178 countries. Billions of social media impressions every month.
No ads. No corporation. No billionaire. Just reader-powered journalism that will never relent. Never bend a knee. Never give up. And never surrender to Trump.
