Fight Back: Gallego Defends Fellow Veteran Mark Kelly Against Sham Investigation, Crockett Pushes Back Against Trump, and Comey Slams Bogus Charges
The Trump regime’s cowardice on full display
As we head into the holiday season, I just wanted to say how thankful I am that you’re taking the time to read today’s news brief. Hopefully it gives you some relief from the Trump regime’s chaos—even if only for a moment.
Since we don’t allow corporate influence here, our work depends entirely on support from our community here on Substack. So if you haven’t yet, please support our journalism and activism by becoming a paid subscriber to our movement today:
Let’s jump in.
KASH PATEL COULD BE FIRED SOON
It was reported yesterday that current FBI Director and reigning staring-contest champion Kash Patel may be fired soon. I’m sure his replacement—probably former Missouri AG Andrew Bailey—would be abhorrent as well. But we’ve been calling for Patel’s ouster since day one, so it would be great to see him removed from the post.
COMEY ON CASE BEING DROPPED
In his first public statement since the DOJ’s bogus charges against him were thrown out, former FBI Director James Comey said he was “grateful that the court ended the case ... which was a prosecution based on malevolence and incompetence and a reflection of what the DOJ has become under Donald Trump”
Comey added: “I was also inspired by the example of the career people who refused to be part of this travesty. It cost some of them their jobs, which is painful, but it preserved their integrity, which is beyond price.”
I’m thankful for their sacrifice as well. We need more good people standing up to the Trump regime like this.
MIKE JOHNSON DID WHAT?
Let me be clear: the images of Mike Johnson above aren’t AI—they’re very real and clearly pathetic. When making a podcast appearance on Tuesday, Johnson desperately tried to prove his relevance by bragging about taking selfies with musician Jelly Roll. It truly is a perfect summary of his time as Speaker: fake, forced, and cringeworthy.
Johnson will do anything to be liked. Whether it’s holding out awkward hand gestures, or being a rubber stamp for Trump—he’s a complete and total phony. This embarrassing display is further proof that he’s completely unfit for any leadership role in our government.
DEMS HOLD SHADOW HEARING
On Monday, House Democrats and local leaders held another shadow hearing in Los Angeles, where they slammed the Trump regime’s widespread immigration abuses. The hearing included US citizens who were illegally detained by ICE, and other witnesses.
Afterward, Rep. Maxine Waters said: “This is an important press conference that is being held to let you know what we’re all doing: resisting this lowdown, dirty, no-good, filthy president.”
And Rep. Jasmine Crockett piled on, stating: “I know someone promised that they would make America great. They are doing just the opposite. The idea that someone ran and said that I will get rid of the bad guys, yet we know more than 50% of the people that are currently being detained in custody have no criminal records at all.”
Speaking about the Trump regime, Crockett said that the innocent immigrants being arrested “are what make this country great, not your thuggish ICE agents.”
GALLEGO RESPONDS TO SHAM KELLY PROBE
During an interview, Veteran and Dem Sen. Ruben Gallego had a pretty blunt response to Pete Hegseth, regarding the sham investigation into Dem Sen. Mark Kelly. “F**k you and your investigation.”
“You will never ever be half the man that Senator Kelly is,” Gallego said directed at Hegseth. “You … are a coward. And the fact that you are following this order from [Trump] shows how big of a coward you are. I can’t wait until you are no longer the Secretary of Defense.”
We have never backed down to cowards like Trump or his regime—not once in the decade we’ve been fighting him. And we never will.
Our activism arm, The Watchdog Coalition, is helping lead the resistance. We’ve reached lawmakers 532,000 times in a year, while generating billions of impressions on social media, and taking a sledgehammer to maga propaganda with our daily news briefs.
But we have to stay independent to do all of this. I can’t have some advertiser begging me to sell snake oil. Or a fat cat billionaire telling me to tone it down when it comes to Trump.

I have two questions for you today.
Thoughts on the fact Kash Patel may be fired soon?
What did you think about Gallego’s response to Hegseth?

I think Kash leaving the FBI is great news for America. And I hear they are now throwing Kristi Noem under the bus. Maybe we can at least move past some of the cosplay politics now.
