As A Bush-Appointed Judge Exposes The Lawlessness Of ICE and FBI Agents Raid Georgia Election Offices To Soothe A Mentally Declining Trump, Ilhan Omar Calls For The 25th Amendment
Plus, Maine nurses protest against Susan Collins
I’m glad to have today’s news brief for you. Thanks for being here.
The Dworkin Report reaches millions every week, covering the truth that corporate media sanitizes—if they cover it at all.
We don’t just report the news—we organize, and we deliver results. Our Midterm Accountability Project has already driven 600,000 calls and letters to Congress in the last year, with a goal of one million more before the midterms. We’ve also generated tens of billions of social media impressions in that time—trending two anti-ICE hashtags this week alone.
This is journalism that fights back, and it only works thanks to readers like you. Help fuel our movement by upgrading to a paid subscription today. You’ll get our daily briefings, access to exclusive interviews, and your subscription directly fuels our fight to win back Congress. Join now:
JUDGE SLAMS ICE
A federal judge appointed by George W. Bush rebuked ICE this week for completely disregarding court orders, providing a list of 96 separate violations in Minnesota during the last month alone.
While threatening to hold ICE’s director in contempt, Judge Patrick Schiltz wrote: “ICE has likely violated more court orders in January 2026 than some federal agencies have violated in their entire existence.”
When a Bush appointee—who clerked for hardline conservative Antonin Scalia—makes a statement of this magnitude, it shows just how far off the rails Trump’s immigration abuses have gone.
MAINE NURSES STAND UP TO COLLINS
A group of Maine nurses showed up to protest at GOP Senator Susan Collins’ office this week. Chanting “Stop ICE!” loudly inside the building, they had one simple demand: “Vote no on any appropriations package that includes the Homeland Security Appropriations bill.”
Collins did what she does best—ignored her voters, publicly expressed concerns, then did what Trump wanted. But these nurses aren’t going anywhere. They’re preparing to ramp up the pressure on Collins, who is one of the Senate’s most spineless members.
SENATE DEMS BLOCK ICE FUNDING
Yesterday, Senate Democrats blocked the annual government spending package, taking a stand against ICE’s deadly operations. Their move forced Trump and Republicans to separate DHS funding from the broader spending package—leaving the rest of the government funded through a two-week extension.
MN Sen. Tina Smith made it clear: “These lawless ICE agents should be following the same rules that your local police department does. There has to be accountability.” Her colleague, NV Sen. Jacky Rosen, stated: “The abuses of power we are seeing from ICE in Minneapolis and across the country are un-American and cannot be normalized.”
CT Sen. Chris Murphy said Congress can’t fund a department “that is murdering American citizens, that is traumatizing little boys and girls across the country.” And Sen. Bernie Sanders took it a step further, saying ICE shouldn’t get “another penny” until DHS Secretary Kristi Noem is gone.
OMAR RESPONDS
MN Rep. Ilhan Omar was sprayed by a pro-Trump madman during a town hall event the other night with what police identified as apple cider vinegar. It was scary, because it could have been anything. But Omar wasn’t shaken—not one bit.
Immediately after the attack, Omar returned to the mic, saying: “Don’t let them have the show.” She added: “We are Minnesota strong. We will stay resilient in the face of whatever they might throw at us.”
Trump tried to blame Omar for the attack, lying and saying it was likely staged. Omar scoffed at the suggestion, stating: “Maybe it is time for the 25th amendment to be invoked, because [Trump] certainly cannot remember what he said an hour ago.”
GEORGIA ELECTION RAID
Officials in Georgia are slamming the Trump regime’s raid of Fulton County’s election office on Wednesday, where federal agents seized 700 boxes of records from the 2020 election.
Dem Sen. Jon Ossoff called it a “seismic event,” warning: “This should have people across the country absolutely shook. This is a huge deal … This is a shot across the bow at the midterm elections.”
Fulton County Commission Chairman Robb Pitts stated: “I’m a big boy. While we have grown accustomed to name-calling and rhetoric, we will not give one inch to those who seek to take control of our elections … Not today, not tomorrow, not ever.”
That’s the kind of resolve we need right now—and it’s exactly why our work matters. While Trump tries to intimidate election officials and everyone else under the sun, we’re exposing his authoritarian tactics and mobilizing the resistance to stop him.
And the work is paying off—we trended two anti-ICE hashtags this week while sending thousands of letters and making countless calls urging Congress to block ICE funding and remove Kristi Noem.
It’s all proof that momentum is on our side, but we can’t let up now. Please upgrade to a paid subscription to help fuel our fight:
Onward!
