remove our "Secy of War" Hegseth is past a clown and buffoon, he is a menace to our troops and our country.

Joanne Steacie's avatar

Absolutely. Marge! All he seems to care about is image, mostly his own!

Kathy's avatar

And impotence, mostly his own!

All sent. All extremely important to me. I live in CA, one of the most targeted states under this administration. I am tired of it, I am tired of my state wasting money and time fighting him all the time. Trump needs to stop, we are citizens living here. And I have news for Trump, my family has been here far longer than his, I can document back to as early as 1609. Related to Martha Washington, John Adams, and more. I can even prove, heaven help me, that I am a cousin of his ex wife Marla Maples, we share grandparents from AL going back generations. When Trump talks about America, he has no idea what he is talking about, he does not care about this country, its history, its people. I am so sorry for the rant but I am beyond frustrated at this point. For all of these people and himself to regard him as the face of America, the embodiment of what it means to be an American is just...well I don't know what it is, beyond comprehension I guess. We need trump to be removed along with all of these other people that have sold out our country, its ideals, etc. We may need to wipe it all clean and start again. I thought my children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were getting a somewhat better America than it had been in the past, more acceptance, more rights, etc. only to see us take huge steps backwards, we were not without our flaws, some serious, but I had hope that we continue to move forward. Now I may leave my family with a country worse off than when I received it in many ways. Except for the economy of course, which seriously maybe we do need to wipe the slate clean and begin again in a more fair and equitable way.

Excellent Rhonda!!! I am totally being described as you share your feelings. Thank you and may all your thoughts about getting rid of this entire cancer come true. Sincerely and with hope. 🎶🌹👏🏻🌎💕

I hear ya and agree, Rhonda!

Buy stock in bleach and wipes 🧻 now! The next democratic administration will have to do a lot of cleaning 🧽 in that WH.

Sent all 4. Thank you!

"Our pressure campaigns on members of Congress haven’t slowed down a bit." I'm so glad you haven't & that you've made it so easy for us to send letters to our senators & representative. I really appreciate that as I'm sure others do, as well.

Thank you for all you do!

Joanne Steacie's avatar

All. Can't wait until we don't have to send these daily letters because the trash has been removed or contained in our government! Liking to see Trump's desperation. He's offering 1M for anyone pointing out election fraud (thst leads to conviction). It's laughable like since he's the biggest election thief of all time. Plus, FYI, Trump never has paid his bills or fulfilled on his promises. Keep up the good work all!

I’ve been watching the turnout numbers climb and thinking about every person who decided this year wasn’t the one to sit it out.

Julie's avatar

Absolutely, Ms. Jonington. I early voted, mail-in ballot that I dropped in an election drop box outside the municipal building/police station in town several weeks ago. I use ballottrax to check when it is received, accepted, and then certified.

Nancy Jensen's avatar

Same here. I dropped my mail in ballot into a drop box and requested tracking. And retrieved confirmation that my vote was counted.

Kathy's avatar

Same! 🗳️🇺🇸

This is the week. Not the one where we get comfortable because the numbers look good—the one where we finish what we started. See you on the other side.

Denise Lowe's avatar

1 week out. Don't get complacent at all the good polling going on. People are voting early in record numbers, but most will still go the polling stations. I voted early, I'm the Lead Inspector for 2 voting precincts, and I am "nauseously optimistic" (in Robert Reich's words) that there will be a Blue wave. BUT I am not complacent. We've got to get everyone to vote! That is our superpower. #VoteBluetoSaveAmerica

My ballot’s been counted. Make yours count too.

We have a plan and have our choices marked in our sample ballots. We like to go together as a family. People get busy so we have picked Saturday after some basketball games my sons are coaching. All of the family will be there so...it works, then on to dinner.

I usually vote on Election Day but I voted early this year. Didn't want to take a chance on 'day of' shenanigans.

We CAN vote out fascism. Look at Brazil and Serbia! I hope Bibi will be next to go down.

KQH's avatar

My parents are lifetime republicans in Georgia. My mom said, "I dint care who it is, but I'm voting for the Demicrat all the way down the line!". Dad said he was "very worried about these socialist democrats". But he also said "boy, you thought the corruption was bad under Biden, it's nothing compared to what this administration is doing!" I would have thought he'd just stay home, but they both voted early. Go, Osoff.

Bon's avatar

My husband became a Republican when his family came into money. This year he voted Democratic, and against Republican/developer initiatives in our area. I'm quite proud of him!

And I've voted too, blue all the way! 💙

I voted last Tuesday in Dallas County. Straight Dem ticket.

I voted 15 minutes after early voting started in my state! I urge everyone to vote early. We don't know what Halloween trick the orange monster has up his sleeve. It could be ICE goons or maybe armed soldiers at polling places. Vote like our democracy depended on it; because it does!

I keep telling people to think about 2024 when pollsters had Kamala redecorating the White House before anyone voted. That memory will stay with me and I will make sure you also remember. Do not take any of these races for granted.

Scott and Sam, Just want to commend both of you on your ceaseless, in depth, impartial work to bring us the truth and keep us optimistic and motivated. You have made a real difference in moving the needle in the right direction. THANK YOU!

Jessica Rath's avatar

YAY! Every one of your investigations makes my heart sing, Scott. I'll return to my home state Thursday night and will vote Friday morning. Would have voted earlier, but I couldn't!

Pam Birkenfeld's avatar

I think it’s all great that we’re all voting early and voting at all, but we were already motivated. It’s the ones that didn’t vote last time that I’m concerned about. And they aren’t usually reading the comments on Substack.

Nicole E's avatar

Yes but the more people who vote early the more targeted the get out the vote campaigns can be to reach the not yet motivated. Also it gives us more time to help people cure ballots if they are eligible for that when the ballots are in earlier.

Very excited to see so much early enthusiasm!

Thanks Scott for another uplifting report this morning - I'm a Cleveland voter - YES Obama pulled out the stops and delivered a much deserved message to several hoots and hollers - no Booing - Vote !!!

Heidi L's avatar

I ordered an absentee ballot - because I could and want to keep demand for them up - but I will be turning it in on Election Day when I go to work as an Election Official in my town. I live in a rural area that's quite mixed and my role on Election day is to check voters in. That gives me insight into D vs. R, how busy it is and number of voters voting, as well as the number of new registrations. It will be interesting to see.
