The Opposition Gains Momentum and More Bad News For Trump
Big events in Texas, new protests, Dems stall big evil bill, and more
Before we start another week of Trump’s absolute madness, I’m glad to have a fresh edition of Great News for you today. Thanks for being here—let’s dive in.
Fmr. Dem Rep. Beto O’Rourke drew a big crowd for his town hall in San Antonio, TX—joined by Dem Rep. Joaquin Castro and other elected officials. Beto also spoke to another full house at a separate event in Laredo, TX.
O’Rourke ripped Trump’s big evil bill, saying: “What if … we stopped … shoveling trillions of dollars to the … wealthiest people in this country, and instead use the trillions to cure cancer … to build the millions of homes we need in this country so people have a roof over their heads.”
Elon Musk’s birthday was “celebrated” yesterday with global Tesla Takedown protests. Dubbed “Musk Must Fall,” the day of action featured dozens of events held across the world outside of Tesla showrooms and dealerships.
There are national “Sick Of ICE” protests scheduled for July 1. Organizers are urging folks to call in sick to work, and take to the streets to speak out against the Trump regime’s many immigration abuses.
Speaking of sickness, The American Academy of Pediatrics took a stand against failing HHS head Bob Kennedy—by leaving his vaccination advisory panel. They said they won’t take part in “a system that is being politicized at the expense of children's health.” Good. Everyone should constantly call Kennedy out for the harm he’s doing.
Meanwhile, in Florida, a large group of protesters gathered outside the new “Alligator Alcatraz” ICE detention center in the Everglades. It’s a complete waste of money—basically a militarized tent city that’s expected to cost close to half a billion dollars a year. It’s an inhumane abomination.
Two groups, Friends of the Everglades and the Center for Biological Diversity are pushing back. They just filed a federal lawsuit against awful DHS Secretary Kristi Noem in US District Court on Friday, with the goal of shutting down the facility.
Former Capitol Police Officer Harry Dunn and DC Metro police officer Daniel Hodges are suing the Architect of the US Capitol—for failing to hang a plaque honoring those who bravely fought off the January 6th insurrection.
The plaque was legally required to be installed on the building more than 2 years ago, but it’s been sitting in storage collecting dust ever since. Some Dem Members of Congress got tired of waiting, and started putting up copies of the plaque outside of their DC offices.
CA Gov. Gavin Newsom had some strong words about his new $787M defamation lawsuit against Fox “News,” saying: “The gloves are off. Let’s go. We’re gonna call out the bulls**t. And the propaganda. And the weaponization of lies and disinformation on networks like Fox.”
Trump is pushing for a vote on his big evil budget bill in the next few days. Democrats stalled a vote by having the entire garbage legislation read aloud—as of now, they’re 11 hours in.
GOP Sens. Thom Tillis, and Rand Paul—who can’t be trusted to run a toaster—said they’ll vote against the bill. But that’s not enough to stop it.
I run one of the biggest Contact Congress campaigns out there. We’ve made countless calls, and sent more than 400,000 letters to block this big evil bill. All while pushing hard against any GOP cuts to Medicaid, Social Security, and more.
