Musk and Trump’s constant chaos can be taxing, just like April 15th is every year. So I’m glad to have more good news for you today. I hope it gives you some relief from the madness—even if just for a moment.
Let’s start with the fact that a new Quinnipiac Poll shows Trump’s approval rating has dropped to a record low of 41%. I don’t trust most polls, but I am surprised the number is that high. Still, it’s a good sign Trump’s numbers are sinking.
Harvard University rejected Trump’s unhinged demands to change school policies related to hiring and admissions. In response, Trump froze $2.2 billion in funding, but Harvard didn’t flinch. They doubled down, with their President speaking out publicly against it. This is exactly how every school should respond to these outrageous and unconstitutional threats by Trump.
Fmr. President Barack Obama, who went to Harvard Law School, praised the university for taking a stand, saying: “Harvard has set an example for other higher-ed institutions—rejecting an unlawful and ham-handed attempt to stifle academic freedom ... Let’s hope others follow suit.”
Speaking of suits, the Trump Administration was sued by the Liberty Justice Center at the US Court of International Trade over his reckless tariffs. The suit argues Trump has no authority to actually impose the tariffs, calling his moves flat-out illegal.
In Illinois, our awesome subscriber Chris shared a great story about how Dem Rep. Sean Casten “came down from IL-6 to fill in” for GOP Rep. Mike Bost. Bost is another Republican who refuses to hold in-person town halls. Chris stated that Casten “even answered the questions from the maga cult members; although I doubt they liked the answers.” Huge thanks to Chris for volunteering at the event and reporting back!
In Idaho, more than 12,500 people packed an arena to see Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Sen. Bernie Sanders on their “Fight Oligarchy” tour. It’s one of the biggest political events ever in Idaho.
As our movement gains momentum, it’s crucial to cover these rallies—especially since corporate media has failed miserably at doing so. It’s also extremely important that we show strength in numbers—so when people fill an Idaho arena to protest Trump, we absolutely should put a spotlight on it.
For anyone asking, ‘why were they there?’ AOC said: “I’ll give you one simple answer: It’s because you matter.”
AOC then went on to rip Marjorie Taylor Greene’s recent stock transactions, asking her: “How much did you make? How much did you make off of people’s despair? How much did you make off of that panic? How much did you make off of that suffering? No more. We can’t accept it.”
And Bernie was on a roll, taking aim at Trump’s fragile ego, saying: “He now wants to take away CBS’s license because they did a story that criticized him. Oh my word, CBS criticized him! Oh, let’s drive them out of business, how terrible … If you can’t take criticism, get out of the political process. This is a democracy.”
Absolutely right. America is a democracy—and for 9 years, we’ve fought Trump to protect it. That’s why we cut through Trump’s lies and propaganda to bring you the good news every single day. All while doing everything we can to make a difference.
