Trump Regime Gets Dragged By A Supreme Court Justice, A Former President, and A Congressman In A Kimmel Hat

SOTOMAYOR SLAMS

At an NYU Law School event, Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor appeared to take a swipe at Pam Bondi, who recently suggested that “hate speech” is not protected under the First Amendment.

Without saying Bondi’s name, Sotomayor stated: “Every time I listen to a lawyer-trained representative saying we should criminalize free speech in some way, I think to myself, that law school failed.” It sure did.

PROTESTING DISNEY

Following the suspension of Jimmy Kimmel’s show, a protest erupted yesterday outside Walt Disney Studios in Burbank, CA. Hundreds of union members and local activists gathered to show their support for Kimmel. They held signs that read “Every red line has been crossed,” and “Shame on ABC.”

Boycotts are also beginning to form against Disney, as well as Sinclair and Nexstar—owners of local ABC affiliates. Great to hear, let’s turn up the pressure.

CALLS TO RESIGN

House Democratic leadership is demanding that FCC Chair Brendan Carr resign, calling his pressure to fire Jimmy Kimmel a “corrupt abuse of power.” In a joint statement, they said Carr “disgraced the office he holds by bullying ABC ... and forcing the company to bend the knee to the Trump administration.”

Many other lawmakers have called on Carr to resign, and we’re launching a brand new campaign to pressure every member of Congress to do the same.

OBAMA ON SPEECH

Former President Barack Obama had a powerful message after Kimmel was pulled from the air, saying: “This is precisely the kind of government coercion that the First Amendment was designed to prevent—and media companies need to start standing up rather than capitulating to it.”

Obama added: “After years of complaining about cancel culture, the current administration has taken it to a new and dangerous level by routinely threatening ... media companies unless they muzzle or fire reporters … it doesn’t like.”

I’m glad Obama is frequently speaking up, and specifically calling out the Trump regime. Let’s hope this is his new norm.

SWALWELL SENDS A MESSAGE

While donning a Jimmy Kimmel Live! hat in the House yesterday, Dem Rep. Eric Swalwell gave one of the strongest statements about Kimmel’s firing.

Swalwell said: “There’s going to be a Democratic majority in just over a year. To the FCC chairperson and anyone involved in these dirty deals: get a lawyer and save your records, because you’re going to be in this room answering questions.”

This is how folks need to take on the Trump regime—like an unapologetic, forward-thinking wrecking ball. And that’s exactly what I’ve been doing for nearly a decade.

Trump can’t get me fired, and maga can’t cancel our movement—no matter how hard they try.
