Trump’s Guard Blocked, Tariffs Rejected, and ICE Chief Dragged To Court As AOC Says GOP Will Face Backlash In Upcoming Elections

GUARD BLOCKED IN PORTLAND

In a major reversal, an appeals court decided to vacate a previous ruling from last week, which allowed Trump to deploy the National Guard to Portland, Oregon. A majority of judges on the court voted to rehear the case, which results in the blocking of Trump’s Guard deployment to the city while hearings proceed.

“LOCK HIM UP!”

US Border Patrol’s Gregory Bovino, who is overseeing Trump’s immigration abuses in Chicago, was ordered to appear in court this week. He’s accused of violating a previous order that bans federal agents from using aggressive crowd control tactics during protests.

When he arrived at the courthouse, Bovino was “welcomed” by protesters who chanted “lock him up,” and held signs with messages like “Stop ICE Brutality.”

Meanwhile, students from several Chicago high schools participated in a walkout to protest Trump’s immigration abuses. One high school senior said: “I know that there’s many people out there that came here for a better living, such as my parents … I do this for them since they can’t really speak up.”

KOREAN PROTESTS AGAINST TRUMP

Another round of anti-Trump protests erupted in Gyeongju, South Korea on Wednesday, as part of a multi-day pushback against his unhinged tariffs. Folks walked toward the venue where Trump was scheduled to meet with the President of China on Thursday, chanting “No Kings: Trump Not Welcome.”

In another part of town, South Korea’s largest labor organization held a march, as demonstrators chanted “Trump, go home!” While a group of college students peacefully demonstrated near one of Trump’s horrible hotels.

SENATE VOTES TO UNDO TRUMP TARIFFS

The US Senate voted to undo some of Trump’s terrible tariffs this week. Five Republicans joined Democrats to repeal tariffs on Brazil, while a resolution to eliminate tariffs on Canadian goods passed as well.

Trump cult member Mike Johnson will surely block it from ever getting a vote in the House. But it sends the message that Americans don’t support Trump’s petty trade wars.

AOC DUNKS ON GOP

Recently, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez spoke about the crucial elections happening on Tuesday. AOC said: “Right now, Trump and the Republican Party are acting with impunity … we can send a message with gubernatorial races and down-ballot races across the country. They can start to see when the tide shifts—that their time is up.”

AOC also stated: “When they get that shock of a lot of these results, they’re gonna realize that they aren’t as immune from consequences as they think.”
