🚨TWO URGENT ACTIONS TODAY: Trump's UNHINGED DHS pick—Markwayne Mullin—confirmation hearing tentatively set for next week! He defends ICE fatally shooting citizens, backs expelling US-born kids, objected to 2020 election results.

Tell your Senators: BLOCK this nomination! https://actionnetwork.org/letters/tell-your-senators-oppose-markwayne-mullin-for-dhs-secretary/

And tell your Reps to support Pam Bondi's impeachment: https://actionnetwork.org/letters/tell-congress-impeach-attorney-general-pam-bondi/

Already done several times.

Diane Riley's avatar

I assume you mean hitting the heart button. Please tell me where it is so I can hit it.

LEJ's avatar

At the top, right under the title of the post.

Julie's avatar

Markwayne Mullin one completed last week.

Pam Bondi's just now.

Pam Casale's avatar

Be on the right side of history- NO TO MULLIN- not smart enough to get a job in the real world

Denise Lowe's avatar

I think it's very important that ICE officers are admitting they've been told to indiscriminately hit arrest numbers without warrants or cause. The more people who talk, the more the truth about the cruelty of this regime comes out. The tide is beginning to turn, but it needs to turn faster.

Sylvia Arrowood's avatar

Change is happening and We the people need to stand strong and not back down.

Ann Marie's avatar

Why are we calling them officers or agents when they are lawless thugs?

Andrea Tuthill 🇺🇸🏴🇮🇷🇨🇦's avatar

ICE Thugs is good. ICE Goons maybe🤷🏽‍♀️🤷🏽‍♀️🤷🏽‍♀️🤷🏽‍♀️They are basically working for the mafia, with their strong arm, cruel treatment of anyone brown or black. And, they are NOT law enforcement in the way your local police force is. But, rather have limited scope all revolving around immigrants and deporting them. The day that regular law enforcement lowers its standards to match those of ICE, with no knock warrants, violence employed at all points of the arrests and detention, deporting people who VERY LITERALLY have a judicial order saying they can’t be deported, is the day I hope at last sees some homegrown militia, the 2A Don’t tread on me crowd finally decide it’s time to use those weapons they’ve stockpiled!!!

Sam Jones's avatar

Now we have the receipts and ICE admitting to their crimes under oath. And we’re going to be using them to demand a huge refund come November!

Wis's avatar

Amen, Sam!! I’m all for refunds! But they can’t refund the profound, ongoing irreversible damage to the environment. The dead soldiers. The dead U.S. citizens. The dead Iranian citizens. The little girls trump bombed to death in school. The permanent damage to America’s international reputation and trustworthiness.

I want justice! I want each and every member of trump’s fan club put on PUBLIC trial and locked up or worse for what they’ve done in just one year… and this has to happen NOW, because we can’t survive another three years of this.

Julie's avatar

Well said, Wis. Would like to add that we can't refund the immeasurable trauma and life-altering brutalization of people and their families who are just trying to build better lives by this reprehensible regime.

Wis's avatar
4hEdited

You are absolutely correct! And the trauma he has caused ALL of us on this planet - financially, psychologically, mentally, emotionally, literally. Once he’s gone, I pray that we’ll all be wiser, stronger, kinder and more accepting SURVIVORS.

It’s appalling: every life trump touches becomes a story of survival. Or, most tragically, not surviving. From the children he raped to the nation he betrayed to the world and planet he plundered.

Julie's avatar

Yes, you've hit on the really important part. That WE LEARN FROM THIS AND DO BETTER GOING FORWARD FOR ALL PEOPLE (or as I like to say, all living things not just humans).

Wis's avatar

👏👏👏👏👏AMEN, JULIE!!

Richard Class's avatar

Exactly, Wis, this is an existential moment not only for the US but for humanity itself.

Renee Goodman's avatar

Wis, your great wishes need to happen soon, trial, lock up, but the best is WORSE!

Jamesina Hamilton's avatar

AlLL of them have and continue to perpetrate crimes that are categorized as treason … and we all know what the sentence is for treason!!!!!

Theodora's avatar

Didn't DOGE promise a $2000 refund from all the "waste, fraud, abuse" last year? I'm still waiting on that one, too!

Wis's avatar

Don’t hold your breath, Theodora! Sigh…

The ICE agents who testified truthfully about arrest quotas were simply behaving as any honest American should. Admitting to illegal quotas should not shield then from legal consequences. It was clear from the start that quotas were ordered by the criminal trump and his minions, namely the ghoul Stephen Miller. The entire regime is a criminal and virtually lawless enterprise.

Cindy Abbott's avatar

I ask why an "honest American", one who seemingly would have been educated on the Constitution and US History, would sign up to be part of ICE. And, why we haven't heard of massive groups of folks quitting after they realized that they are working for a criminal and virtually lawless enterprise.

Wis's avatar
5hEdited

They are very unlikely to know the constitution beyond the misreading of the second amendment. IMO, anyway. I admit that I don’t know any agents, though.

I mean, why would ICE agents be worried about the constitution anyway? Not one person in the government bothers with it and they’re giving the orders.

Stephen Ball's avatar

They realized that they are working for a criminal and virtually lawless enterprise. The Constitution and US History have been DOA for 50+ years!

Renee Goodman's avatar

MONEY needed! Some of them probably lost their jobs before or finally realized what criminal work they were providing.

Cindy Abbott's avatar

So opting to work for a(nother) criminal regime?

Warrior4Justice's avatar

$$$$$$$. That's what.

Diane J's avatar

Cindy some of those ICE agents were working in border patrol before trump took over and probably not guilty of the atrocities we've been seeing- but they need to either quit or refuse illegal orders.

Colleen Wetteland's avatar

$50,000 I'm sure had a little to do with it! And who says they were not criminals to begin with? So going about doing lawless acts is nothing new to them, maybe.

Ann Marie's avatar

Could it be the money? Lack of accountability?

Sue's avatar

I think that many (not all) enjoy the opportunity to live out their bully fantasies.

Julie's avatar

Agree, Kevin. Nosferatu Miller needs to be a top regime removal priority.

Ms Jonington's avatar

The neighbors could probably hear me screaming for joy!

Kris Jackson's avatar

I love when my state shows up. Maryland, my Maryland.

Peggy Freeman's avatar

Congratulations, Kris! You and your state deserve a round of applause! Keep that resistance going!

virginia arthur's avatar

Thank you for this great news, Scott! Your articles always give me hope.

I live in a small rural community in south central VA. This area went for trump. There are no protestors on the street here.

There are Democrats in this area, too. They do what they can, but it is not enough to sway the MAGAts. Also, this is Jerry Falwell territory. His Liberty University is just 30 minutes from my home.

I was shocked that the ICE agent told the truth on the stand. We all know trump ordered quotas, but it is good to have it confirmed.

Wis's avatar

virginia, I wonder if someone organized a protest, people might show up? If you say there are democrats there (besides you), maybe “if you build it, they will come”? 🤷‍♀️

Peggy Freeman's avatar

I agree, Wis! Even in my deeply red area, we have No Kings every time and the numbers continue to grow! Surprisingly, it is not just Democrats. It is Republicans and Independents as well! Millions upon millions have grown disgusted and sick of this maniac and his corrupt regime.

Julie's avatar

Good point, Peggy. I've attended several No Kings and ICE Out for Good. At the latter, there was a man holding a sign saying he was a Republican but wanted ICE abolished and Trump out.

Lily's avatar

That one is a start! I had one maggot in rural Texas protesting with me...That's two.

Julie's avatar

The MAGA person protesting with you IS a good start. I am in a blue state but will take any Republicans that realize their party is not working in anyone's favor except for Trump and their own pockets!

Peggy Freeman's avatar

Talking to the Republicans at the protests shows me there are still Republicans that stand for what the party use to stand for and absolutely hate that maga has taken over. That want the orange man gone and the sooner the better!

Julie's avatar

Very good to hear, and great that you take the time to connect with them on a personal level to understand that not all Republicans are MAGA

Wis's avatar

👏👏. (Finally, right?)

Judith kitty's avatar

Excellent work team

Wis's avatar

I think the ICE “officers” are quite proud of how many humans they have sent to concentration (detention) camps. Getting them to “admit” it does not seem a problem. Getting those who *ordered* the warrantless quotas to admit it is the challenge.

Lily's avatar

I will ask again, where are the family members, parents, siblings, spouses, children not speak up????? they all can not be sold out for the money??????? That's disgraceful!

Al Bellenchia's avatar

Go, go, go. All of this. All of us. Keep pushing. Keep winning.

Patti Scott's avatar

I’m not surprised that ICE workers have quotas; I am surprised they didn’t take the 5th or lie. I’m sure there are some ole time ICE workers that are decent human beings but the latest hires just seem to be thugs, murderers and bullies. I haven’t lived in Huntington Beach long enough to recognize who is affecting change but hope to meet some people at No KingsDay!

Julie's avatar

Patti, Chris Kluwe is in Huntington Beach and running for office. He is a former NFL player turned social activist. Perhaps, you'll bump into him at one of those events. Here's his website: https://www.kluweoc.com/

Patti Scott's avatar

Thank you. It’s so hard to

Meet like minded people when we’re retired and no longer have little kids. I will look for him and check out his website. Thx

Julie's avatar

I hear you, Patti.

Every protest I've attended thusfar has been a wonderful experience and I've met so many kind, smart, involved, and funny people. I am confident you will too, and Chris Kluwe is a great guy, also with a great sense of humor!

Patrick Daniels aka Cromulent1's avatar

My question is elementary, how many ICE members are in a team?

Sam Jones's avatar

It's not a hard number, but roughly 9-12 agents were making up a team in this case.

Chris Fox's avatar

Some positive news - thank you!

Barbara Langathianos's avatar

Excellent info as usual! The resistance is working!

Frances Gardner's avatar

People in our community are showing up for Indivisible Vigils. I hope we are changing a few minds at least. As for ICE, quotas should be illegal, period. They are by definition arbitrary, and encourage defiance of due process and other law-abiding acts in regulating immigration. Meanwhile, thank you for showing the winners and NOT the face of DJT over and over like so many news bit. Thank you for finding the Good News.

Julie's avatar

Agree, Frances!

And if you think about it, they actually defy the basic premise of arresting these people (that they are breaking the law (being here illegally is a civil offense, not criminal) and that they are the worst of the worst criminals.

How can you possibly have a quota based on that? Isn't it just, you are either a criminal or not and therefore should be arrested only if there is enough evidence to prove it?

Patrick Daniels aka Cromulent1's avatar

Elementary question, how many members in a team? Apparently there are dozens in Minneapolis!

Sam Jones's avatar

roughly 9-12 in this case
