Thousands Join Anti-Trump Events in Texas and More Great News

A new kind of protest in California, million-dollar pledge to help immigrant families, and more

On Sunday, the Senate parliamentarian denied a GOP plot to sneak language into Trump’s evil budget bill—that would limit judicial enforcement and contempt powers in the courts. Public outrage put a spotlight on this issue, and Democrats pushed hard to make sure it was thrown out.

Other parliamentarian rulings scrapped part of the bill that would dismantle the Consumer Finance Protection Bureau. Another would’ve shifted SNAP/food stamp expenses from the federal government to the states.

Sen. Bernie Sanders finished the most recent leg of his Fighting Oligarchy tour yesterday, with events in Amarillo and in Ft. Worth, Texas. Sanders said: “The American people do not want a government of billionaires … They don’t want a war with Iran—they want to invest in their own people.”

Sanders was joined by fmr. Rep. Beto O’Rourke, who said this about Trump’s bombing in Iran: “We still can’t find the f***ing money to help the Veterans who served in Iraq, and Afghanistan, and Vietnam—who put their lives on the line for this country! Have we learned nothing?! … We must stop this illegal war!”

Across California, numerous demonstrations have been taking place outside hotels where federal agents are allegedly staying. Sometimes lasting past midnight, these protests have featured a mariachi band, drumming, singing, and dancing.

Some of those attending hope it prevents a good night sleep for folks who they think don’t deserve one. Rafael Ornóñez, who has taken part in the festivities, stated: “I think they should just go back where they came from.”

The LA Dodgers announced $1 million in funding that will be given directly to families of immigrants, who are facing financial hardships due to recent abuses by the Trump regime. A great start.

The Washington Post recently published a garbage piece titled: For Democrats, handcuffs are the latest symbol of resistance to Trump. Let me stop you there, WaPo.

This headline isn’t true, it’s grotesque, and misses the main point. None of the Dems who found themselves in handcuffs deserved it. Not one. It’s all been an abuse of Trump’s power, and a clear sign of his corruption. A twisted revenge tour, that should lead to his immediate removal from office. See that, WaPo? It’s not that hard.
